Dec. 14, 2007 - Christmas Parade
My kids have walked in our local Christmas parade for the past several years. (Our church does a float every year.) I stay home to watch the parade on tv while getting soup and hot chocolate ready for their return. Here's pictures of this year's parade...

The parade theme was Christmas Past, Present & Future.
Here's Christmas Past

Nov. 27, 2007 - Hermit Is All Shaken Up!
I've mentioned before that we love to pet-sit. The kids get their fill of playing and caring for a pet. Just when the fun wears off - the pet goes home!
My friend let Macy carry the hermit crab to the car. She was new at walking then; so let me tell you - it was a very bouncy ride for that little hermit crab! The sand, the crab, the food, the water, the shells.....they were in one big mumbo jumbo mess in one corner of the cage!
My friend said, "No worry! It reminds the crab of the tide rolling in and out! He likes it!" I, however, think Macy was more like a tidal wave!

Oct. 17, 2007 - The Amazing Mouth
My oldest daughter has a very long tongue. I won't tell you who she gets it from but it isn't me. Really, it's distractingly long!
At breakfast this morning, Chloe was showing her siblings....again.....how she can stick her tongue up her nose. Here it is for your entertainment, as well...
The kids started discussing that maybe the distance between the mouth and the nose was shorter for Chloe, thus allowing her tongue to reach her nose. By the time I looked over at them they already had a ruler and were measuring each others mouth to nose distance.

That, of course, turned into measuring who's mouth could open the biggest!

It was very tough to get Willow to allow her mouth to be measured because a real princess does not open her mouth that big nor does she stick her tongue up her nose!

Then there's Macy who is still trying to figure out what this so called camera is doing invading her space! So don't even think about shoving a ruler into her face space!

Ok! So we're done with the math lesson on measurement and we've completed our science unit on the structure of the mouth and nose! And breakfast isn't even over yet!

Oct. 13, 2007 - Chloe Singing in Church

That's Chloe in the orange dress. The kids are singing the opening to a soloist's song of "Still Listening" by Steven Curtis Chapman.
They sang earlier in the summer. I just ran across the picture again and thought I'd share it with you!

Sep. 18, 2007 - Backyard Camping
This was one of my best summers I can remember having in a long time - 2nd best to the summer I got married.
This summer was just more relaxing along with the weather being very dry and beautiful.
Well, because it was so dry, the grass doesn't look so beautiful. ![]()
I have started showing some pictures of what we did this summer. For this post, I will show you our big camping experience!
Camping is something that we would enjoy doing. It just seems that with a baby or young toddler almost always present in our family, camping would be more stressful than fun. So for now, we have settled for camping in our own backyard. We learned that some friends of ours had a tent that has never been out of it's box. They've had it for about 10 years!!! So we talked them in to backyard camping with us!
After we set up 3 tents in the backyard, we roasted hot dogs over the fire....

Of course, we made S'Mores over the fire, too!
Then it was time for a backyard movie of "Return to Neverland".

After we put the kids to bed, we adults stayed up half the night playing games. It was such a fun night!

Sep. 6, 2007 - In The River
The Clinton River, which Chloe was baptized in, was a source for a lot of fun this summer. So many things to discover! Here's my kids playing in the river with some friends.
Half the adventure was the 20 minute hike through the woods along the river. We didn't want to play in the river by the cider mill parking lot! No, it's more secluded and fun to hike through rugged terrain, trying to pull a wagon loaded with beach chairs, towels, snacks, etc.! It wasn't easy but it sure was a lot of fun!
