Jul. 2, 2008 - Creepy Crawly Summer
We are continuing on with our bug theme, but have decided to include ALL things creepy crawly since we spend so much of our time outside. Our library is doing a summer reading program involving bugs and they have almost weekly kids events during the summer ranging from songs and puppet shows to storytelling...all about bugs. So, my friend, Jenny, and I have decided to use that as part of an ongoing theme in our homeschooling this summer. I'm very excited to be doing this together.
Here are some more of our fun finds...
This is Freddy the Salamander and Frankie the Snail. They lived happily ever after in a cozy little tupperware bowl for a week before we let them part ways back into the wild.
My mom found Freddy in her yard and caught him for her grandsons. What a good grandma she is!!!
O was fascinated by his little friend.
I thought the snail was pretty cool too.
And of course, we still have our tadpoles. They're getting bigger, but still no legs. I think they only have a couple more weeks til this happens. Then we'll take them back to the pond where we found them.
