Nov. 21, 2008 - Pioneer Days

This week we went to Kelsey Creek Farms with our Homeschool group and had a great time learning about life in the old days. Everyone had so much fun and it was a perfect day to be outside.

After Farmer Jayne read a Laura Ingalls book to the kids and talked to them about what a home in Laura's days would have been like....the kids got to experience some of the things they did back then. Here is C "making muffins".

Here, the kids are using the grinders to grind seeds and make butter.

The kids had fun pumping water...

...washing the clothes and hanging them to dry.

Hammering nails....one of C's favorite things to do!

After learning all about the Pioneer Days, we took the kids for a walk to see all the farm animals and play.
This is only part of our group.

This was one of our highlights....these 2 horses were playing with each
other and racing back and forth along the fence line and through the field. It
sent C into joyful shrieking as he watched.

O and R looking at the bees.

...and these two cuties walked hand in hand as we made our way to the park. It was adorable.

It was a perfect day and we all had a really great time! Thank you Leigh, for organizing our Pioneer Days Field Trip!
