• Apr. 3, 2007 - The Passover that was

This is a report back on what we did yesterday as we celebrated the Eve of Passover.  I wanted to first say that the Rabbis changed the days.  Because the Sabbath has been made into a god, they moved the day for Passover so it was celebrated a day later than it should have been.  How can one tell?  Check the moon.  It has to be FULL!  That is how months are calculated, so YESTERDAY was the full moon and that is when the day of Passover should have been enjoyed, not today and the Eve of Passover should have been celebrated the day before that.  Nevertheless, we used what we were given and this is what we did.
At 3pm, we prayed and committed the whole day to the Lord.  We then started preparing the unleavened bread.  We lit the fires and started the lamb.  The lamb was smothered in a paste of bitter herbs (hyssop) and olive oil.  Then started a time of fellowship and sharing, asking and answering questions and whoever wanted to participate in the bread making did so.  It was a lot of fun and a total group effort.  We cooked the bread on the fire, when I finally get the pictures sorted out you will see.  Then, before we started the meal, we talked all about the Last Supper and the new command from Jesus, the bread and the wine.  That should have been done 2 nights before but again, we used what we had .  It was very special.  My wonderful A is such a good teacher, I love him so much.  What was really nice is that other people contributed to the teaching which we love because we would never claim to be experts and we too are learning constantly.  Then, we ate.  The Lamb was good!  The guests had brought different dishes of roast vegetables and salads so with the meat and unleavened bread we had no lack of food.  After the meal we all read through Exodus Chapter 12 and various other scriptures pertaining to the prophecies and fulfillments and there were more questions and answers before dessert.  Then, everyone helped clean up and that was the end of the evening.  We had such a wonderful time and we are totally grateful to the Lord for answering our prayers.

While we have not made definite selections as to what and how to celebrate during the season yet, we have made choices not to partake as everyone else in the world does.
Here is one article that gives a good summation of what we think --

****** Edited to say I have given your article an entry of its own. It was just too long to be a 'comment' on my blog. **********
