In His hands

The house

Well, We went to see the house on Sunday.  We were supposed to see it on Sat. but the agents children were sick.  When we got there the out side of the house looks so cute but when we walked inside. Oh man, the floors were wavy and every time you would take a step you would sink and the floor would flatten out.  We also found out that the house was 103 years old. There were cracks in the walls that was covered up with paint and the kitchen floor sloped.  We decided that that house wasn't for us.  I can understand why these people have their house of for sale.  It is going down hill because it is so old!!  So now we are looking other places.  Don't want an old house like that because that will cost us an arm and a leg to get it up to tip top shape. We don't have that kind of money.  We are praying that the Lord will open the doors for us.  Also we are praying that the Lord will help us sell this house fast.  Hopefully the house the Lord wants us in will be up for sale at the same time we well our house.  We Have a lot of faith that this will happen.  Please pray that we will sell this house and that will get what we ask out of it and that the doors will be opened.

Mar. 5, 2008 - old houses

Posted by coffeecravingirl
Hi! Well, I agree, it would take time AND money for a fixer upper. Although, old houses have lots of character. I would wonder what life was like for the family that lived there way back when. What would the walls say? When I first got married, we looked at a house that need some work, but it was cute. Turns out, my husband would have had the time to work on it, but the yard was small, and it was very close to the other houses. It all worked out in the end, though. I do love the nice yard in your picture, though.

Oh, mercy! If the floors are wavy, that's a baaaaadd sign! Thanks so much for your kind comments on my blog. They made my day. :) It has been over a decade since I had deer meat. How I miss it! Our hunting season is sooooo short here in Missouri, so not much hope of getting deer meat as my sweetie is not much into hunting anyway. I don't know if I've ever even had gamey deer meat- I've loved it each and every time I've had the good fortune to have it. ;) My step-mother or I always made it. It's been so long I can't even remember what I soaked it in- it was either milk or salt water? I honestly can't remember which! I'd have to call step-mom and ask her. :) Take care and happy house hunting!!

A girl after my own heart! I grew up in Louisiana and have done the frog legs and deer. I never have had the other things you mentioned, but I'm pretty brave- think crawfish and oysters- YUM!! Where in Missouri are you? You can send me a message to keep it out of cyberworld?

Apr. 16, 2008 - Same boat - praying for you

Posted by mrssmif
We're in the same boat, trying to sell our house on our own, and also searching for some land (as cheap as possible) it seems like every time we find something seeming to be a good deal, we go and see the place, it's just too much (that needs to be fixed). We are placing it in His hands just as you've said, and knowing that He will provide according to His Will, not ours. No matter how bad we want it right away, lol. I'll keep your family in my prayers. Keep us posted!
