Hey, I'm back. I've been enjoying my summer break and forgot to post. I started school yesterday (9th grade!) Yeah, so this summer I took an HTML class, which was pretty fun.

I taught myself how to play "Ironman" on my guitar and now I'm learning "Dust in the Wind" by Kansas. IT IS HARD!!!

I'm still waiting for Starcraft 2 to come out. I think sometime this fall.

Okay, that was it. I will stop boring you now.

Medal of Honor: Rising Sun

The other day I created a marble cannon out of a piece of pipe. It's fun and it launches the marbles about 20 feet. Anyway, here's the next MOH game.

Platform: PS2

Rating: T

Content: Violence, Language

Game Overview

You take the role of two brothers, one stationed in the Philippines and one stationed (where else) Pearl Harbor. Fight your way through 5+ long levels using over 20 authentic WWII weapons. Survive the attack on Pearl Harbor, infiltrate a secret enemy meeting, and sabotage a Japanese super carrier.

Positive Stuff

Once again, your the good guy defending the world from the bad guys. You learn to use cover and be patient for the right moment to strike. Doing all these earns you skeleton keys to unlock bonus characters, which make the levels worth replaying.

Negative Things

Other than the violence there is the constant swearing of one of the commanders. Though it's sometimes hard to hear, it's still there. The fighting didn't feel as realistic as, say, MOH: European Assult. The controls also took some getting used to. And your team mates must not have learned that it's not a good idea to step in front of your gun while you are firing.

Scoring

(From 50)

Violence: -12

Language: -5

Controls: -3

AI: -3

Unreal fighting: -5

Total: 22

Yeah I have nothing else to do so I just made a list of movies coming out soon.

Movies coming soon

Indiana Jones: Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (May 22)

Prince Caspian (May 16)

Speed Racer

Yeah I used to love the old Speed Racer series, so I want to see how much they changed in the new movie... they probably redid the whole story.

Movies coming out I-don't-know-when

Captain America

The rest of the Chronicles of Narnia

yeah that was it.

In which I finally get the hang of the Wii. (or some other goofy title)

Yesterday we went over to a friends house for a while and messed around on their Wii. After getting KOed on boxing (due to a lucky uppercut) we started bowling and playing tennis. It was really fun. After that we played boxing again (this time it was me doing the uppercuts). It was then I began to suspect my controller might be lagging. That or I was watching the wrong screen. Turns out it was the wrong screen  I hate it when that happens. I started to get the hang of it after the 3,217 round :)

Oh yeah, and I finally got Attack of the Clones from the library, so I can watch that sometime this week.

A whatever post

So, I was going through some of my old posts and I found this really creepy fact:

Lincoln's secretary was named Kennedy.

Kennedy's secretary was named Lincoln.

Both were assassinated by Southerners.

Both were succeded by Southerners named Johnson.

Creepy, huh. One more:

A week before Lincoln was shot, he was in Monroe, Maryland.

A week before Kennedy was shot, he was with Marilyn Monroe.

Lincoln was shot in a theater and the assassin ran to a warehouse;

Kennedy was shot from a warehouse and the assassin ran to a theater.

So, anyway, yesterday some of our friends came over to visit. Alex and I worked on the paintball course I'm building in our backyard. In the space of twenty minutes I succeeded in:

blinding myself with wood shavings

scratching my knee with a hatchet

accidentally grabbing a thorn bush (drew blood)

Yes, I am accident prone aren't I.

Creepy cool thingy

I got this off of Dallascowgirl13's blog. It is kinda creepy, but cool.

YOUR AGE BY EATING OUT Don't tell me your age; you probably would tell a falsehood anyway-but your waiter may know! YOUR AGE BY DINER & RESTAURANT MATH This is pretty neat. It takes less than a minute. Work this out as you read . Be sure you don't read the bottom until you've worked it out! This is not one of those waste of time things, it's fun. First of all, pick the number of times a week that you would like to go out to eat. (more than once but less than 10). Multiply this number by 2 (just to be bold). Add 5. Multiply it by 50. If you have already had your birthday this year add 1758 If you haven't, add 1757. Now subtract the four digit year that you were born. You should have a three digit number. The first digit of this was your original number. (I.e., How many times you want to go out to restaurants in a week.) The next two numbers are YOUR AGE ! THIS IS THE ONLY YEAR (2008) IT WILL EVER WORK, SO SPREAD IT AROUND WHILE IT LASTS!!!!

Okay, here goes:

1. the number of times I want to go out to eat a week: 2

2. multiply by 2: 4

3. add 5: 9

4. muliply by 50: 450

5. add 1757 or 1758: 2207

6. subtract the year u were born and my answer is: 214

OMG!!! Awesome!!! pleassseee try it

and leave a comment!

Game review - Medal of Honor: Frontline

11:48 AM, Apr. 22, 2008 .. Posted in Game/Movie Reviews .. 1 people left me a comment .. Link

Platform: PS2

Rating: T

Content: Violence, language

Game Basics

The game is set during World War 2, where you take control of Lieutenant James Patterson, who is sent out to the frontlines of France, where he undertakes different missions to defeat the Nazis. With 19 missions and over 15 authentic WW2 weapons, you are more than capable of rescuing hostages, destroying U-boats, and {Spoiler Warning} stealing an experimental jet fighter after killing a leading officer.

Positive Content

One thing this game makes you do is find (and use) cover. Instead of running out into a group of Germans and blasting away (and then get picked off by a sniper), find cover and use the controls to lean out and pick them off from cover, or let your men move in to take out a turret while you lay down cover fire.

Negative Content

Though the game dosn't include any blood or gore, the T rating still means something. Unloading a clip into a Nazi can get pretty violent, as can the cooks, who wing knives at you. The officers use a lot of foul language when they yell at the troops to get moving.

My Thoughts

One thing came to mind while I was playing this game: Conserve Ammo! I was constantly panickingwhen I ran out of ammo and was resorting to bashing enemies over the head with a pistol. Learn to use your weapons wisely! Stop and think before you fight, see if there is anything in the environment you can use instead of using your last few bullets.

Scoring

This is a new scoring system I want to try.

Beginning score (10)

Violence (-3)

Bodies dissapear (-0)

Language (-2)

Final Score: 5 (medium)
