My favourite fella and one of his dogs

Posted in Family Album

This is one of my favourite photos of one of my most favourite people in all the world!  My husband and best friend, Malcolm.  I thank the Lord continually for giving me such a wonderful man.

Tess, the tiny terrier

Posted in Family Album

This is Tess.  She's the fifth member of our doggy family.  She actually belongs to my mum but they both live with us in their own cottoge on our property.  We're a very close knit family and Tess spends just as much time down with us and the other dogs, as she does with her mum.  She has the run of two households.  She's our fly catcher.  When our Blue Heeler Butch comes too close to her and she doesn't like it, she jumps up at him and bites at his lips.  He backs off straight away!  Then he and his sister Belle, play "flip the Tess".  They get their nose under her belly and flip her up in the air.  It's usually then that she runs for "Nanny" (me) for protection.  We have a lot of fun with our dogs.

Mighty midget Milly

Posted in Family Album

This is the newest addition to our family.  Her name is Milly and she came to us after my husband's mum went to be with the Lord in January.  She's eight and we thought she would not settle in but she has adapted beautifully.  She's lost weight and now runs around joyously playing with the other dogs.  The Lord even answers prayer about dogs!  She is a mini-foxy cross.

My beautiful Belle

Posted in Family Album

Belle is one of our five dogs.  She is a "Smithfield" blue cattle dog.  They call them "Blue Heelers" because they are wonderful cattle dogs and nip at the feet of the poor cows.  They were originally bred from a Belgian shepherd, a Kelpie dog and.....a Dingo, Australia's wild native dog.  They have a reputation for  being tough, loyal, hard working, intelligent and strong.  Belle is all those things and more.  She's adorable, loving, gentle with us, playful and a good guard dog.  NO-ONE comes into our property when they see Belle and her brother Butch.

Jess's cuddle bud, Fred

Posted in Family Album

This is our third dog, Fred.  He's a mini foxy, Jack Russell cross.  A cutie with wide paws which allow him to climb fallen trees.  He's loves a ball play and especially loves cuddling up with our daughter at night in the bean bag.

Our boy Butch.

Posted in Family Album

This is Butch, Belle's brother.  He was born deaf, but you wouldn't know it.  He's such a character.  So gentle and loving.  He loves to be touched and simply MUST sit all over you when he's near you.  He's the boss boy around our patch, but it's all bluff.  He barks at flies and loves to play 'catch me if you can' with his sister.  He's adorable.
