Joyful Chaos

Jun. 29, 2007

So very tired

That seems to be the general state around here today.  At 16 weeks pregnant, I am pretty much tired every day, so that is nothing new.  Jayson cried all the way through swim practice, and that is not typical.  Landon is currently down for his nap, an hour earlier than usual, and seriously needed it.  Allyson is napping on the couch.

The late nights of swim meets combined with early morning practice are taking their toll.  Luckily summer swim season is short.  I really think this is the kids favorite activity.  A couple of mornings I have attempted to let them sleep in and miss a practice after getting home late for a meet, but they always wake up on their own and request to go.  I was talking to some other moms at practice this morning who are having the same experience.  I am glad they all seem to love it so and are dedicated.  Before we know it the season will be over and we will be anxiously counting down to next summer.

Somehow I have been put in charge of coordinating a date for our family reunion.  My brother and his family live in NC so we will be meeting at an amusement park between here and there.  This is no easy task now that our family includes 5 family groups, including 3 teenagers and all of their activities.  Everytime I think I have it narrowed down, someone comes up with something else to add to the mix.  I think we should choose a date for next summer now and have everyone work around it!  lol

Tonight is cub scout pack meeting, if the weather cooperates.  We plan on meeting at a state park to play ultimate frisbee.  If the predicted thunderstorms decide to show, that will be a wash (no pun intended).  Not sure if we will throw together an alternate plan or not.  We have to have an activity in June, July and August to earn the summertime pack award, and there is no time to reschedule June.

After posting the other day about needing to plan for next year, my friend called and asked if we could do both history and science together.  We also do art with some other families as a co-op, and plan on teaching gym together at our large local co-op.  So it looks like I need to concentrate on language arts, math, and religion, there is a tentative plan for the rest.  My Rainbow Resources catelog hasn't arrived this year so I went on the website to request another last night.  Any bets that the one from the regular mailing arrives today?

About Me

Welcome, glad you stopped by! Here you will get a glimpse into the day to day life of our family, as we happily homeschool in Delaware. We currently have 1 child who is married with a son of his own, two in college, and 4 more under 11 years old. Things are often hectic and a little bit crazy, but usually fun and maybe a bit interesting.
