Where exactly has this week gone? Let me think. Monday started with swim practice and ended with a swim meet. In between we did school, I spent some time sewing, continued on the neverending laundry mountain. We also had our last session of our spanish co-op in the afternoon. The kids have enjoyed it, as have I, but it is nice to have a break before fall comes. The group probably didn't learn as much as we had anticipated, but all learned something and I think in all it was a good introduction/ refresher.
We didn't go to swim practice on Tuesday. The mornings after meets are becoming increasingly more difficult to get going. Luckily swim season is almost over. Add to that the 100 degree heat we had for several days in the last week. I paid most of the bills Tuesday afternoon, along with school and chores of course. I did spend more than my fair share of time on the internet Tuesday, not my most productive day this week. We finished the night off with a softball game and finally fell into bed. One more double header and softball season is over too.
Wednesday was not stop. After swim practice in the morning, another mother stopped me to discuss a situation her son had had at scout camp with my youngest brother. I really feel for all the parties involved, but I am not really sure how I can help. That left me with only a few minutes to get the boys home and then head to the chiropractor. I was more than ready for that appointment, not sure that I am quite ready to go 2 weeks without yet. I am still sore today, but definitely better than yesterday. I came home to my daughter in law having a crisis with an empty rescue inhaler, so several phone calls and arrangements later that was handled. My co-leader handled the planning for cub scouts, so I was able to go and just be mom.
So far today we have been to swim practice and grocery shopping. That was lots of fun with 3 little boys who were ready for lunch. In the end I resorted to having Jayson and Dalton reading labels, looking for high fructose corn syrup and hydrogenation. That kept them busy, and they were rewarded with candy bars that contained neither for their efforts! We did make it out of the store in one piece and came home for lunch. We got the food put away, Landon down for a nap, schoolwork done, laundry started, wow even the regular list is long! lol There is a swim meet tonight but Jayson has developed a stomach ache. Brad took Dalton and Allyson, and I am home with Jayson and Landon. I plan on spending some much needed time in the sewing room.
There is no swim practice tomorrow, so if Jayson is feeling better we plan on heading to the beach for a few hours. It will be nice to have no schedule to keep for a day. I may even give them a break from school work since they have been so great about keeping up on it this summer. I do need to spend some time getting our curriculum order together and mailed in. I don't want to get caught in that August rush.
I haven't done any thankfuls in a while. I am thankful for an involved husband who doesn't think twice about taking my place as a swim meet volunteer. I am thankful for good friends who are there for me when I need them, and know just the right thing to say. This week I am very grateful that my bills are paid and there is food on my table.
