Survived Server Boot Camp
|
Well last week was the beginning of my new job. I had to study like a lunatic and work like crazy. My days started around 6am studying then going in to work around 12 or 1 and ended around 11:30-midnight. Usually not having any breaks or eating in between while at work until the end of the night. I had some not so good trainers and then some that were out of this world. My kids were visiting cousins for the week so they were having fun and I didn't have to worry with their adjustment or well-being just yet. THANK YOU SISTER (Literature lover)!!!!
They told us before we took the test that only 1 in 100 passed it the first time. I was so nervous but knew I had done all I could to know it. I PASSED 1st time!!! :) Thank you so much for your prayers. It really got me through the week. In the middle of the week due to emotional and physical exhaustion I was about ready to throw in the towell but that night was one of my most fun. Last night was the first night on the floor on my own. It went really good! Again thanks for the prayer support!! I have my kids back Yea! and we had school and fun during the day and then my hours were much shorter for my real shift so all in all it felt so good to come together. I still covet your prayers for the coming weeks and months but thanks so much for all the encouragement!

I'm glad you are getting settled in. I pray right now for your continued endurance and strength, and sweet time with your kids.

I grew up in a large Italian family obsessed with food :) My grandmother used to say eating was "an event." It is so true that Italian food names are pronounced in very weird ways :) but they taste great!!!! Congratulations on passing your test. It sounded like a very intense week of training. I hope you have a good week-end and have some quality rest.

Oh, if only we had a decent Italian restaurant up here in the boonies... then, maybe, if we ever had a babysitter, and a pile of extra cash... we could have a fantabulous dinner out.
Sounds yummy, stressful beginning, but yummy,
enjoy it,
ali

Yes phonics is so wacky and nothing makes sense sometimes.
I hope you enjoy your serving adventure. It is amazing how life takes twists and turns we never anticipate. I haven't been to read your blog in months, and I was surprised to see that you too have an unpredictable life. So it isn't just me!

So glad you passed the test the first time! Great work! I also started a part-time job recently. It's hard work with everything we already do as homeschooling moms, but it blesses our families. Good for you!
Prayers,
Cheryl

Happy for you for passing that exam! I took a big exam in the summer and boy was that stressful! Don't even know if I passed because they don't post the results until mid-October. What a drag! Least you knew right away - I bet you're going to be the best server in that restaurant!

Hi, tatertots here. I got on your blog and I love it, you really seem like someone who is willing to homeschool and follow the Lord with all your heart, giving Him glory through homeschooling. My mom is that kind of lady (she homeschools us eight), and when ever I find a lady like her, I jump for joy (I just want to let you know when I say you're like my mom that is quite a complement;-). I'm one of JB's sisters, I'm thirteen years old and I would be delighted fi you would stop by my blog and say hi.
