It's great to hear from you. What a sweet, encouraging post. How is your job going? Are you doing okay? Happy Birthday to your daughter. Two of mine just had birthday in the last week, turning 20 and 17. I did a post about each of them. It's been a crazy couple of weeks, as always, with their birthdays and parties, but it's fun, and I wouldn't trade it, especially now as they are older.
Take care!

WOW! Thanks for that! Sometimes I feel like I am being "lazy" because I am not out there working, trying to help our financial situation more than I do. But you are right -- what is more important than being here with our kids? Raising our kids? Teaching our kids??
I needed to hear that! What a great pick me up! :D

What wonderful words of encouragement! I know what you mean about the lack of affirmation stay-at-home and homeschool moms receive. It is so sad that our society sees so little value in such an important job. I just started taking a class at the community college, and in just doing that I feel I have received more affirmation than in the twenty-five plus years I have been home taking care of children! So, I'm with you! Hats off to all the wonderful stay-at-home and homeschool moms!

Thank you for all those encouraging words. I truly enjoyed reading your post tonight. I haven't been on your blog for awhile, so i will scroll down and catch up, but I just loved what you wrote. What is the hardest thing for me has been the eye opening things I have just recently heard about. Because my son is only 3 I am just starting this whole thing of homeschooling. I recently have started meeting stay at home moms who belong to HLSDA and they have scared me with a lot of things. The one that really surprised me was when I asked her to go out for a play date the other day with her kids she said no, she can't go out during school hours, as HLSDA tells them its better they dont as they wont cause attention to them. I had never heard this before and it really scared me. I never even though that someone would report me? for homeschooling? Going out is how we learn the most! Anyways, after reading your blog, it made me think of all these things I just recently heard and how this is going to be harder than I thought. As I never thought any of it would be hard, but I see the part of protecting my rights is going to be the hardest part of homeschooling. Take care and have a great weekend!
