Ever have one of those days?
|
Well, here I am writing what seems to be my monthly post. L We had a good weekend dressing up and having some yummy candy. I even dressed up at work as a puppy and you would have thought I actually turned into one. Let me tell you , it is a Very good idea to dress as an endearing animal because everyone just went on and on with the cuteness factor. I wish I could dress up every day! L
Okay, so back to my title, have you ever just had one of those days where you are just irritable and emotional and no reason why? Yes, I was having one of those yesterday. I was overwhelmed by the home, what I need to do and relating to my precious kids. (and no, not that time either....wish I could say it was.)
So, I was thinking why am I being so much this way? My life is good, I have had a fun weekend, nothing is really bad except for not keeping up. So, I did what any girl would do, I sent my kids on an outdoor hike with walkie talkies in hand and called to chat with my best girlfriend (my sister). It was just what the doctor ordered.
Can I just say that after I had some quiet time with them having fun and me doing some planning and strategizing with sister I felt 100% better. Oh yes, and after reading the e-mail that my parents are offering to keep my kids so I can get a date night with hubby....whoopie!!
So, I was just wondering if other Mommy's out there in blog land were having some of those days. Let me know what you do to snap out of it! ;)

What to do? I have to work to choose whether I'm going to look at the bad, or be thankful. My children tease me because for pretty much any instance in the planet, I know of some horror story. For instance: Got laundry troubles? My cure is to think of a woman 150 years ago living in a grass house in the middle of nowhere, standing outside in freezing weather with her hands in a tub of water, washing the dirty cloth diapers (that she probably had to make herself!) for her brood of 13 children. Once I think of Super Prairie Girl, I feel sooooo much better. It's comic fodder for those who know me, but hey, it helps me get past my "moments." :) Hang in there. And make sure you tell us when you're feeling better and how you got there?

I was having one of those days this week myself. It actually might have been the same day. I get so frustrated with not being able to keep up. Plus, it seems like my 2 little ones have been plotting how to make the most mischief and mess this week, along with seeing if they could keep my mind swirling. It indeed has swirled this week (so much I have a head cold now!) : ) ONe of the same things helped me. Ah, yes, it was Wed. that was the worst, because what helped is that my husband took them to AWANAs, Ashley went to choir, Briana had ballet, and I had the house to myself for 2 hours. Good thing it helped, because at the end of that 2 hours, they busted through the door like a torent--Marissa excited because she had gotten a speaking part and a solo in the Children's musical, and Daniella--well, mostly because she is Daniella, she had gotten to go to the AWANA store that night for her first time ever, and she had a cupcake! I didn't think they'd ever quit talking over each other! : ) Since I have this cold with a little fever, James also had to take them to a birthday party this afternoon (I'm sure he's having a blast with all those little girls and their moms at the princess tea party. He's a great guy!). So, I imagine at the end of this afternoon's solitude I will have the same excitement bursting through the door (from the girls--not James).
Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy your night out with your hubby!
