I like to change my voice mail message frequently. Keeps my friends on their toes and is a fun way to express my personality.

My last message said"You have reached Joy Learning Center and the home of the ******. We are diligently doing our school work, so please leave a message and I will get back to you." I cannot tell you the number of times someone would leave a smart aleck answer -many saying "Jes you are a slave driver - it is 9pm and you are STILL doing school!" Um no I was ignoring you - or busy - or diligently watching Law and Order - or more likely surfing the blogosphere!

So my new message is my funny teenager saying in his best Arnold Swartsagnagericantspell voice "You have reached the ***** residence, leave a message after the tone." It has gotten several giggles and at least one of his friends who hates it and asks us to please change it each time she calls!

But my favorite message is one my grandmother says, each time she answers the phone, either by machine or her beautiful voice, she always says "Praise the Lord it is a beautiful day, what can I do to help you." Every time, since I was a small girl. I don't know when she began the practice, it has always been her way. And it blesses my soul to hear those words each time. Rain or Shine it is a Beautiful Day that the Lord has made.
