Woodwind Family Lapbook

Praise the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary, praise him in his mighty heavens. Praise him for his acts of power; praise him for his surpassing greatness. Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise him with the harp and lyre, praise him with tambourine and dancing, praise him wiht the strings and flute, praise him with the clash of cymbals. Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Praise the LORD. Psalm 150

Woodwinds Study Lapbook

The entire unit including: lesson plans, answers to the mini books, research links, other lapbook materials, recordings and videos, games, and books may be found at this Squidoo lens. I am still making some of the woodwind pages as the kids work through the unit, so come back to see new pieces in the future.

Lapbook Materials ~ May be used in a lapbook, part of a notebook, or just as mini books. For those of you who may have never heard of a lapbook, it is a file folder covered with mini books, pictures, games, and other items. The small books are used for taking notes on the concepts of your choice. Have your student notate any infomation you want him or her to learn or memorize. They make a very fun and creative way to recollect information from your lessons! There is no right or wrong way to do them, so enjoy creating! What is important is the lesson material itself.

You will notice I have a couple different formats for similar topics. For instance, if you want to take notes on the flute, you may pick a mini book from 'Woodwind Lapbook 1", "Woodwind File Folders", "Characteristics of Woodwind Instruments", or one of the notebook pages. I would have a young student do the smaller mini books (with less writing), an older student with a notebook page (to takes notes in essay or paragraph form), and a middle student a combination. Just choose what is best for your students.

Oct. 19, 2009 - Thank you so much

Posted by crossrhodes
We are beginning the woodwind instruments unit this week. I'm so glad I stopped by here because I thought I had downloaded everything we needed and saw that I had 6 more files that I was missing.

We just completed the string family last week. I'll let you know when I upload the pics of the finished lapbook over at lapbook lessons so you can see it. Thanks for giving us something to do for music this year! My son is really enjoying the units and mom's learning a lot too ;) God bless you.
