Nov. 6, 2009 - Welcome to our blog!
J.O.Y. Christian Homeschool (Jesus, Others, Yourself)
"Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" Jesus replied: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments." Matthew 22:36-40
"Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it." Proverbs 22:6
"The proverbs of Solomon son of David, king of Israel: for attaining wisdom and discipline; for understanding words of insight; for acquiring a disciplined and prudent life, doing what is right and just and fair; for giving prudence to the simple, knowledge and discretion to the young - let the wise listen and add to their learning, and let the discerning get guidance - for understanding proverbs and parables, the sayings and riddles of the wise. The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline. Listen, my son, to your father's instruction and do not forsake your mother's teaching. They will be a garland of grace to your head and a chain to adorn your neck." Proverbs 1:1-9
Hello! This is our tiny part of the earth to share God's love and wisdom. We are a homeschool family with three children and have been homeschooling since my oldest was born (14 years). God has been so wonderful to us in our lives -- especially in times of need! His ways are always best. We try our best to know Him and follow His path for our family.
We wish for God's blessings to touch everyone who may pass here.
When we study a subject I like to research the topic, try to organize it , make notebook and lapbook materials, worksheets, reviews, and tests. Below are some of the ones we have either completed or will be working on this school year! Some are located here, and others I have planted around the web. I truly hope that my studies will help other moms and teachers, just as I am constantly learning from so many others!
I love friends dropping in and also making new ones. Please leave a comment or a note just to say "hi"!
