Well, I finally feel I have something newsy to write as I've been in a holding period of waiting to know something. Leland finally talked to Paul again about the job and found out that at this point, they don't have anything for him, but they didn't completely turn him down. They want him to call and send his resume through again when we are actually moving up there and they'll see what they have going on then. I was actually pretty content with this news, as not much seems to be happening here with selling the house. The market is pretty dead as we've had 1 showing in about 3 weeks and we had an open house that only got 3 people, none of whom were truly house-hunting. We will have one more open house tomorrow that we had scheduled and if nothing happens there, we'll probably take the house off the market and wait until Spring to move.
I have mixed feelings about it. I'm disappointed in some ways, as I really was hoping to move before winter, but I also see a lot of good in it as well. I'm excited to be around friends longer, to be in Bible Study and at our church longer, to not have to rush into the move and everything so quickly, to be able to move and then have the summer to work on the place before winter hits. I also had already started to pretty much move on with things with going to Bible Study this week and starting schooling with the kids and a new schedule and all. I'm also planning on teaching some Spanish once/week to some other young kids along with my own kids this year. It's something I hope to do after I move, so it will be good to practice here on some of my good friends' kids and develop a system with them.
So all in all, I do think it's for the best and I'm content with that, though there's a small piece of disapointment there as well. I really am working on my faith and trust and rest in God's perfect plans! He knows what's best for us and it will work out better than I could imagine in the end when I rest in his ways. I know God is keeping me here for a reason so now I pray about those reasons - look for ways to minister while I'm still here before I'm off to a new place. Thanks to God for his perfect plan and timing in our life.
