Thankfully last week-end our snowstorm never materialized, so we were able to have everything go smoothly for our trip to our new home. Our new church over there was able to provide some great help with painting help and other misc jobs to get things ready to move. I was surprised at how much we were able to get done! I will probably paint some rooms I wasn't originially planning on painting since we got so much done. It's so nice painting with no flooring down in the rooms and no furniture there!
We finally got all of the flooring picked out. We'll return to our new house this Sat. and work on some more painting and some flooring projects. Hopefully that will all go well. Then dh is going to our new house on Mon. and Tues. with someone more experienced in construction to do a few more repairs and some more flooring. Then we have maybe one more trip for final painting and finish work on the house before we move in the next week-end! It should be busy! Of course in there we will be packing up for this our 3rd move this year! Thankfully lots of things are still packed that we never unpacked.
Here are a few pics from the painting we did last week-end. The first pic is from my twin 4yo boys' room. I did a room like this at our former house we owned before our first move a year ago. After you paint it like this, you take a tracer projector and trace pics from books or things you print from the internet or whatever onto the wall, then paint them in with basic craft paints. It's a lot of fun and really easy to do and the kids can have whatever they want to decorate the room!
Here's our room. My quilt was made by my mil and is red, white and blue. I'm planning on using some red accents (curtains or whatever) in the room along with the blue.
This is our "formal" living room. I don't know that I'm going to stay with those curtains - I don't think they match the fireplace stones. I just threw them up there to see what they look like.
We also got the master bathroom painted. We still need to paint a couple of bedrooms, the main living room, and a little on the office. I can't wait to see what it looks like once the flooring is all in!
