Of all the weeks to have sickness we just had our 2yo ds get sick with a stomach bug. We move on Sat. so I'm hoping the others (or ourselves) don't' catch anything! We've done so well all winter and have hardly had any sicknesses this whole past winter so I keep wondering if we'll get it sometime. Hopefully it won't travel beyond our 2yo ds!
It was definitely a trying day with trying to pack some and take care of him. I'm so grateful to have my husband home and around during this time! Don't know how I'd do it otherwise! Today it was my now 6yo dd's birthday and unfortunately the sickness disrupted things somewhat. The hardest part was this evening when our sick 2yo was starting to feel better but wanting to eat our cake and ice cream. He had started playing some at that point so we tried to keep him happily playing in another room while we did the cake thing but unfortunately he came in a bit later and started emphatically telling us he was feeling better so he could get some cake. Of course this repeated many times over and over with crying interspersed. It was actually an improvement on supper when he wanted chocolate milk and everything else we were having and screamed most of the time until I took him out for a bit and he wanted back with daddy.
Anyways, despite that, we enjoyed my dd's 6th birthday! Here's a pic of her with her cake. BTW, her dad does the cake baking and decorating most birthdays. It's become a tradition to bake a cake that is related to their interests and keep it a surprise until we bring it out on their birthday. There's always much anticipation of what cake they will have!
If I'm absent much these next days, you'll know I'm busy packing and moving although sometimes I blog while my baby is nursing and of course she'll still need to do that these next days. Blessings!
Just wondering ... do you post all posts at both blogs? I have struggled with whether to do this or not. I do post all homestead posts at both blogs, but haven't posted all posts at both blogs. Which makes my homestead one kind of sparse.
I can't make frosting !! I have tried an usually fail, so just stopped. I used up my food coloring too......so IF I need frosting, one of the other missionary ladies can usually do it for me!!
You sure are busy......keep up the good work.

I love the special cake decorations! What a talented dh! I may have to show mine how creative he could be if he wants to give it a try! I would still be willing to make the cake. I am not much with icing!
Your daughter is so pretty! This is a wonderful picture!
Thank you so much for the honor of picking my blog as one that makes you think! I feel really bad that I have been so poor at blogging lately! I really appreciate the thought! I will try to do better now that some of our activities are slowing down! Anyway, I am sorry that I didn't say thank you sooner! I am praying for your move to continue to be smooth! So thankful God has been blessing in many ways! In Him, Eva
