We're all moved and settled (mostly) into our new home! The moving process went very well. We had great help on both ends and were able to get all the work done quite quickly! We were settled with the kitchen unpacked and the beds put together by the end of the moving day. Of course this is the 3rd time we've done it in the last year, so we should have it down!
The only slight glich was losing our cat for a bit right when we were ready to leave! I was starting to get pretty worried when after about 15 min. of looking we hadn't found him! I did take a last walk to look for the cat by the river and was able to see that in the beaver dam area there was a new beaver lodge that had sprung up in the few days since our last trip down there! We had never seen a lodge before and were wondering if the beaver was still around. That was neat because my ds was able to take a quick walk down there to see it before moving. Anyways, the cat did turn up and all was well!
Since moving we've enjoyed walking out on the property that we back up to. Some day it may be developed and there's a road roughed-in that lots of people walk back on. It's gorgeous back on that land and you can get to the big river that runs through by town from close to the road. We also have enjoyed walking on the roads (very quiet roads) in town. Our town's population is close to 100 (was around 78 but with our 8 and another family or 2 moving in soon, it's going up!) so there isn't too much traffic or anything! It's only a 5 min. walk to the park by the river in town.
I've loved having our new house. We only have 1 level and I love it! Everything in the house is so convenient and the living room/dining area/kitchen are all attached in one big room. I LOVE that for watching the kids while cooking etc.! We have one more bedroom than we used to and also have a great big deck which I love! Anyways, things are going great settling in here. I can't wait to see what the Lord has in store for us here. I'm excited to meet people and find people to witness to and serve!
So glad to hear you are getting settled! Boy, 3 moves in one year and with a family of 8 - you're amazing. I'm so behind in reading your posts (sorry - I always love reading your blog, it's full of fun stuff), I scrolled down and saw your painted walls. How very nice and the blessings of free paint is sooo great! Paint is so expensive.
May you find great joy in your new home and make lots of fun memories there.
ps - you're comment about me being a twin. Ummm, I'm an only child. But I think I know where you got that -- another blogger (or 2), Shari Crooks and I had found that we have so much in common, we call eachother "our twin". Also, Haflingerhorses and I call eachother our long lost twin. So I have lots of siblings, just not really. (smile)
Oh, how I both love and hate moving... at the same time! LOL!
It would have been neat to watch those beavers for a while, but God has other plans doesn't He?
I hope your move goes well and you get your kitchen situated "just right". It always takes the longest for me.
