I was reading my Bible this morning and received my inspiration from Colossians 2:3. It says, "In whom (Jesus) are hid all the treasures of wisdom & knowledge."
What a treasure wisdom & knowledge from the Lord are. If I seek anything besides loving God and my family, I think it would be the treasure of the Lord's wisdom and knowledge. If only I walked each day by the Lord's wisdom in my parenting, homeschooling, loving my husband, witnessing to others. My wisdom and knowledge are nothing compared to the Lord's.
How do I get this wisdom? In James 1:5 it says, "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally..." God wants us to ask him for wisdom and he WILL give it to us.
What hinders me from receiving the wisdom from God? The first obvious thing would be by not asking him for it. Not coming to God each day in a relationship and desiring his way and his wisdom and his help in all situations.
The second thing I think of is listed in James 1:6. It says, "But let him ask in faith nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord." Do I have faith when I ask? Do I believe that the God of the universe can and will answer me and give me faith and wisdom?
Praise the Lord that he listens to our prayers and answers them and will give us all wisdom and knowledge for our day-to-day living! May we seek him and his wisdom daily. |
