When I put my baby down for a nap, I get a few minutes to read or pray. Today as I was putting her down, I had a sense of frustration over daily problems and issues I was facing. In facing these things I was struck with how earthly some of these problems were. I thought about all these people running around here down on earth and all the things that we chase after and get frustrated about.
I was then struck with the thought that in heaven when we die, our whole focus will be on God and worshipping him. We will be so in love with him and awe-struck by him that all the earthly things will fade away and our focus will be on him.
My next thought was that our daily living needs to be lived the same way - with our primary focus on our awesome God. Each day is to be lived in his presence, in his peace, in his ways in order to give him glory. In his presence, the ddaily problems fade amd peace can reign as we entrust ourselves to him.
May we learn to rejoice in the Lord and the hope of heaven! |
