Here's my favorite homemade pizza recipe. The crust is so soft, delicious, and easy! The topping makes more than 2 pizzas-worth so I often freeze the rest for another pizza later.
Pizza Crust
4 c flour (I sometimes do 1/2 whole wheat and 1/2 white flour)
4 1/2 t yeast
1/4 c sugar
1 t salt
1/4 c oil
1 1/3 c warm water
Mix all ingredients and knead. Let rest 10 minutes. Divide dough in half. Roll into 2 12-14" circles directly in greased pans or onto pizza stone. For parbaked crust, bake in 375 oven for approximately 10 minutes. For pizza, add pizza sauce (see below), cheese and toppings and bake in 400 oven for 15 minutes (maybe a little less or more). For best results cook one at a time.
Sauce
1 small can tomato paste
1 small can tomato sauce
1 smaller sized can whole tomatoes drained
seasonings (garlic powder, minced onion, black pepper, basil, oregano, salt) to taste
Mix all together in a blender and spread on pizza |
