I will have one more new one before I take a break during Christmas week. I'll post it on Monday and then I'll dig into some of my older ones, which will hopefully be new to some of you!

I just want to make it clear that my children aren't perfect. They do get on each others' nerves. But I have noticed that even though they have their differences, they look out for each other and have a much stronger bond than I had with my brother and sister at that age. I know there are siblings who go to school and get along. But without the age divisions set up by schools, I have observed that homeschooled children tend to be better at including and playing with children of all ages.
I must admit that the year this happened, I was disappointed she wouldn't be playing Mary, the Mother of God. Sierra was a baby, so I could have had her play the infant Jesus. But Marina had her priorities straight. She was there for her little brother. I was very proud of her.

You may not understand this strip until Wednesday. That's OK. I don't want to explain it until Wednesday. Shush, Grandma. (Grandma might remember the story this is based on.) I apologize if the last word is hard to read. It's "shepherd." Some days I plan ahead, and some days I squeeze in as much as possible before I come to the end.

Mental note: When you tell children they may eat the broken cookies, be sure to mention that they may not break the cookies. Also, specify how dark a cookie should be before you consider it burned.

Based on a true story. Our cat Dusty is really good at playing suspenseful music on the keyboard. When someone (Cough, cough *kids* cough) forgets to turn off the keyboard after practicing, we are usually treated to this wonderful scary music to accompany us down the dark hall into the living room. I always thought there should be a soundtrack for our life, especially at night!
