Okay these usually turn out great! But today they didn't. I didn't use quick oats but a slower cooking oatmeal. I doubled the recipe. And we'll be eating this batch as ice cream topping because they just fall apart. But here's the recipe:
1/2 cup margarine or butter
1/2 cup milk
2 cups white sugar
4 Tbsp cocoa
3 cups oatmeal
Combine first 4 ingredients in a saucepan. Heat to boiling. Boil for approximately 2.5 minutes. Remove from heat. Add oatmeal. Drop onto wax paper. Eat when cooled.
These are different than the ones we had growing up. That recipe had peanut butter in them.
