Many Thanks
I just wanted to say thanks to all of you who commented on my blog and gave such encouraging words. You all had good points and I would love to respond to each of you individually, but right now it's just not feasable.
We have spent the last four days fighting colds and sickness in our home. We've managed to watch Mr. Holland's Opus, Anne of Green Gables, Over the Hedge, and have a few more spare rentals, just in case. Laundry has piled up and dishes barely managed to get done. It's the week before Thanksgiving, and we will be winging it with school. Luckily the Principal called off all regular subjects. We will focus on being thankful this week, read some stories about the Pilgrims, and listen to The Legend of Squanto on our way to Thanksgiving Dinner. It will be nice to have a little different change of pace. Hopefully we are all better by Thanksgiving Day and have things at least semi-caught up.
With the holidays approaching it's hard to not hit the panic button. I know things get busy this time of year, and I am just praying for God's grace to carry me each and every day. I do not want my joy from the season stolen by the dread of busyness I often feel. I believe this time of year is a time for relationships, yet the enemy often steals opportunities from us because of our busy schedules and holiday planning. Often getting together with families can be more of a strenuous time then uplifting. God is the author of our relationships, and He has written a new chapter for us this season. Let us embrace and grasp the gifts He has given us through our friends, families, and those we hold especially close to our hearts. Be thankful for the relationships God has placed in your life, for we do not know how long we will have them. I lost my father to brain cancer 21 years ago this Christmas. I still think of him often and wonder what he would of thought of my life now.
May you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
