Annie Musical!!

We are so excited to announce that Katie got the part of "Molly" in the local high school's musical production of "Annie". Callbacks were last Saturday. Katie and two other little girls were at the callbacks for the part of "Molly" the youngest orphan. She did such a wonderful job. I am always amazed when I sit and watch her on stage. She loves every moment and you can see it in the way she shines on stage. I am always in awe of her performing. This will be her 4th production with them. She started performing with the local high school when she was 6 yrs old. In December 2006 she was an orphan and also a party guest in another scene in "A Christmas Carol". In Feb. 2008 she was a young towns girl in "Cinderella" with her wonderful solo line "and me I'm in the second grade" and "I wish I was an older girl". When all the girls are singing about Prince Charming. She was also a guest at the ball and Cinderella's flower girl. Then last year she was a Wildcat Cheerleader in "High School Musical". She is so excited each and every year when it is time to start auditions and practice. When it is over each year, she can't wait until time to start again.

We are looking forward to another GREAT YEAR!!

Trying to figure out how to change my blog template

Wow! Trying to figure out how to change my blog template to something else has been very time consuming. I wanted to change the background and not lose everything else I had figured out how to add. So off searching I went. Finally, I figured it out and changed it then my main & side bars didn't match. So off searching I go to find html color codes. Found them! Now it is bed time. LOL.. I'm sure now that I have some what figured this out I'll be searching again tomorrow since I still haven't found exactly what I want but at least now I know how to sort of change things up.

You know it's funny this is suppose to be our homeschool blogger, and yet I never seem to blog about homeschooling LOL.. I really have got to get better at this blogging thing, I get way to sidetracked!!

Anyway off till next time.

What If..

Wonder What Would Happen If... We treated our bible like we treat our cell phones

What If... We carried it around in our purses or pockets...?

What If... We turned back to go get it if we forgot it...?

What If... We flipped through it several times a day...?

What If... We spent an hour or more using it everyday...?

What If... We used it to receive messages from the text...?

What If... We treated it like we couldn't live without it...?

What If... We gave it to kids as gifts...?

What If... We used it as we traveled...?

What If... We used it in case of an emergency...?

This is something to make you go "Hmmmm...Where's My Bible?"

Oh, and a few more things-unlike our cell phones:

One plan fits all...

Unlimited usage...

No roaming charges...

No weak signals...

and...

We don't ever have to worry about our bible being disconnected...

Because... JESUS ALREADY PAID THE BILL...!

Thank You Dear Jesus...

I read this online and had to post it on my blog. This is so very true.

Okay I'm hooked on "Little House on the Prairie"

Okay I confess I'm hooked on "Little House" . It's true. I've seen them all before, but I checked season 1 out from our local library. It was innocent enough. Watch a little and go on with life.. Right? LOL Well let's see my dd and I both got sick and it seemed to be we took turns on what days were the worst. Thankfully we are both feeling better than we were. But I'm still hooked.. We watched season 1, then while we were sick my wonderful mother returned it for us and brought us season 2. Well over the weekend we were still feeling bad so we went thru it really fast also. Okay so now we are feeling better.. But I couldn't resist picking up season 3 at the library today.  I will not be able to go through it as fast. Since today we finally got this semester started. But nothing good is ever on tv these days so we will have "Little House" to watch instead.  We had started reading the books prior to watching the series. We love both..

Today I'm so proud to say we finally got back started schooling. I was feeling so guilty.. But with both of us being sick we just haven't felt like offically schooling. Of course we still did some "schooling" we are always reading, my dd has been writing a "book", and she is also working on a play. I've been teaching her to crochet, bless her heart her little hands are just so small. Also we have lots of games that we play that she was learning while playing. So I decided everything would be okay. When we felt better we would get back to the daily grind. And we did.

I'm so bad at this.

Well okay I'm not very good at this blog thing. Maybe this year I will get better... hmmm ??? I guess we will have to wait and see. Well it has been 10 months since I posted anything. Needless to say a lot has happened during that time.

My hubby was able to return to work 9 months after his accident. He still has trouble and more than likely always will. But we are thankful he is better.

My precious dd is now in the 3rd grade. She will be 9 in March. She currently is getting ready for her next big role LOL... The local high school is performing "High School Musical" this year. She is a little cheerleader. Which she is loving every minute.

Today she had her first meeting with a new club she is in "The Life of Faith Club" she had a great time.  It is a club based on the Elsie Dinsmore and other books in that collection. They did a little skit and made a cute journal today. She really enjoyed herself and meeting some new girls. She is looking forward to the next meeting.

For Christmas she got Samantha- An American Girl, she has had so much fun playing with her and we read the "Meet Samantha" book. We really enjoyed it and looking forward to reading the other. First we are going to take out and read the "Milley" books in the Life of Faith series. We borrowed the 1st one today.

I'm so happy that my dd loves to read. She got it honest I love to read. She used some of her Christmas money to buy the 1st 4 Hannah Montana books and has been zooming thru them.

Over the weekend I started teaching her how to crochet. I will try to blog about how that comes along. She started working on her base chain and now thinks she is ready to crochet a blanket for me. :)

I hope I remember to come by and update this more often.  Things were just so crazy for a while.

After my husband's accident at work so many things happened. My dad had a stroke then he had to have hip replacement surgery. During which time my grandmother had a stroke in April of 2007. She was paralyzed on her right side and couldn't talk. Praise the Lord she can now walk with a cane. And she can talk (her speech isn't always clear and it isn't like before, but most of the time we can understand whatever she says) My dad's stroke was completely different it didn't affect him physically it was more mentally and not with everything. Just somethings he can't remember and has difficulty comprehending things. A couple of months ago he had to undergo surgery to open up the blocked artery in his neck ( he kept experiencing mini strokes) Thank the Lord all went well with the surgery. And he hasn't had any more mini strokes since. He still has some problems but is a lot better than he was. So as you can see things just have been very hectic. And honestly blogging wasn't on my mind. But things are now going better. Praise God!

Time for me to get to bed..

A little about ME...This is my life..lol

Posted in About Me

Well let's see where to start. My name is Tina, I am 34 yrs old (I'll be 35 in June). I live in MS with my dh and our precious dd age 7 (she turns 8 the 28th of this month.. she is so excited). I was born and raised in Mississippi. I have lived here all my life except for 2yrs when I was in 4th & 5th grade my family moved to AL. Then we returned back to MS. I love God and my family. I am extremely close to my family they all mean the world to me. My dh and I met while we were each just hanging out one night and we were married one month later. I know it sounds crazy.. But we have been married nearly 9 yrs. One month after we were married I got pregnant with our precious dd.

I have high blood pressure and have been on meds for it since I was 16. The drs like to throw up weight but at that time I was very slim. (Wish I could say that now lol) But anyway I've been on meds every since. I was told at a young age that I should never get pregnant due to my severe high blood pressure. Then right before I found out I was pregnant I was told I probally could never have kids because my ovaries were not functioning right. Thank the dear Lord he saw things differently.. We had a hard pregnancy and alot of bedrest, but God saw us through it all.  He knew the plans he had for me and our family and I thank him each and every day.. God is so good.

Here is a poem I wrote for my dd when she was a baby..

My Little Miracle

The doctors always said, I a mother would never be.
But the dear Lord said, "My child just leave that up to me."

Then when I was pregnant, carrying my child with glee.
The doctors started to worry, She was not growing as she should be..
But the dear Lord said, "Do not worry my child just leave this to me."

Then in labor once again things got a little out of hand.
Her heart stopped beating and we all got really scared.
But the Lord reached down and got her here safe and sound.

Now I'm proud to say I'm a mom.
My angel is here and growing strong.
And I'm proud to say ,
I thank the Lord for her each and everyday.

For to me a miracle was sent.
I'm now a mom of a child who was Heaven sent.
She's the most precious thing here on earth.
Because she was sent down from God above.
Sent to me to raise and love.

She is our one and only, due to alot of female problems I had to have a hysterectomy in 2007. I am so thankful for my dd each day. She is truly a gift from God.

We are home !!

Sorry I haven't updated.. We got to come home from the hospital Thursday.. My dh is doing better than he was before we went to the hospital.. But he still has a long way to go.. We got to come home but he is on several medications, breathing treatments and is on oxygen 24 hours a day. Everyone has been asking how long he will be on oxygen, but we do not know. The doctors have said that we have to take it one day at a time. His lungs are in really bad shape. So we have know idea what is going to happen.  Thank you all for your prayers. We appreciate it so much, just knowing that people are praying and really care means so much to us.

We got up this morning, ate , got ready and went to worship. We didn't go to our usually congregation, but we went to a closer congregation. So we would be close to the house if my dh needed to come home. He made it pretty good since he was only there for preaching and didn't attempt to come for class also.

Know we are back home and are watching a cute movie "Mr. Magoriums Wonder Emporium" so far it is really cute. I'll post more about it later.

Prayer Request

My dh is in the hospital, we have been here since Sunday. As you know from my other post he has been having alot of difficulties breathing since his neck surgery in Sept. Well it continued to get worse and worse. His oxygen levels had started falling they said that 92% and down was bad his was falling to 82%. He has pnuemonia again and his oxygen levels are still not where they need to be. He is on 3 liters of oxygen and still only at 92%. The drs have said that due to his surgery he had some damage and it caused him to have severe silent reflux. Which has burnt his esphogus(sp?) , vocal cords, and his lungs (he is asperating the acid into his lungs) Which has caused him to have the multiple lung infections. They think we will be here for at least a few more days. When he gets out and comes home he will be on oxygen, they hope to eventually be able to wean him back off of it, they say we will have to take it one day at a time.

Please keep him and our family in your prayers

The Latest News

Well this has been a very stressful week for my family. My husband as I blogged about earlier got hurt at work at the end of July '07. He has been off work since August '07 and had surgery on his neck in Sept. '07. Well since his surgery he has had more and more trouble. He started having trouble with his breathing in Oct. '07 after his surgery. He had an allergic reaction to something shortly after being released from the hospital and shortly after that started having more and more trouble. His neck and arm were not getting better. We then found out that his surgery had to been done over. Due to during his last surgery when the dr was removing the herniated disc in his neck it fragmented and part of it lodged in the nerve root going down his arm.. Well they have been unable to do the surgery again due to his breathing difficulties. He is on several breathing treatments daily, 2 types of inhalers and several medicines.. Well the crazy workman comp people call him last week to send him in to see the dr. Well the crazy dr says he is releasing him to go to work on light duty until he is well enough to have the surgery again. So workman's comp is trying to claim his breathing problems have nothing to do with his injury or surgery.. I'm sorry but BULL!!! My husband was a healthy as a horse before he got hurt.. Now he is constantly in pain and has difficulty breathing.. He tried to go to work like they said and it about killed him. So I had to rush him to his primary dr Friday. His oxygen level was at 82% they got it back up to 93%. They said in no way was he able to work and they could not believe the workman's comp dr sent him back to work in his shape. He went to work Mon.-Thurs. with me begging him each day not to go.. He lost 12 lbs. and could barely breathe each day when he came home. He looks awful. He is black under his eyes, he is losing weight , he's not eating or sleeping. I ask all of you to please keep him in your prayers. And pray we can convince these WC people that his lung problem is related because as of now we have no income.. Because they dropped him until he has the next surgery. We are under so much stress right now.. but trying not to worry because I know that God is watching over us and will see us through this dark time. It looks as if I will have to find a job, and also homeschool our daughter. I know it can be done but it scares me. I've haven't worked since she was born and the thought of leaving her each day breaks my heart. I just keep praying that things work out and that WC do the right thing, the pulmonologist (we had to find on our own) believes that it is related so now we have to get his notes and pray that WC will pick back up on his payments. Please keep us in your prayers. I'm so worried about my husband he looks so bad. And I know that there are moms out there that work and homeschool, I would love to hear from you(How do you do it? What are the ages of your children? my dd is only 7)

Thanks for listening..

I'm venting again lol

Today we had to run around trying to find make-up for my dd for her tv debut.. So other mom's told me she would need some make-up on so she wouldn't looked washed out.. Easy, right??? Well as it turns out ...NO, it's not easy at all when your precious child has severe peanut allergies.. I knew I would need to call around to cosmetic companies to find out if their products were safe for my dd to use.. Okay sound easy enough, right?  Wrong again.. As it turns out the are not required by law to disclose that information.. So this is how that conversation went.. I called COVER GIRL oh yeah I'm dropping comapny names here.. I called and said, "hi I'm calling to find out if your foundation products are safe for my little girl.  She is going to be in a play and on television and needs some make up .. My dd is DEATHLY ALLERGIC to peanuts so I need to know if your products contain any peanut oil.. We to the little girls credit that answered the phone, she was extremely nice.. She said let me look that info up, hold on a moment..." So I hold, she comes back to the phone and says, "Sorry you had to wait, also I'm sorry before I start with what I have to tell you. I was informed that all I can tell you is I can neither confirm nor deny if that ingredient is in our product.. It may or may not be.."WHAT???? So I tell her, "I have to know either YES it is in there or NO it is not.." She said, "I understand but all I'm allowed to tell you is that the company is not required by law to give out that information.. So it may or may not be"...  WAIT HOLD UP ...WHAT??? My dd is deathly allergic and the company will not give me an answer.. Okay so please tell Cover Girl I will definetly NOT BE BUYING THEIR PRODUCTS... She said, " If I was you I wouldn't buy them either!!!!"  I told her, "not to worry I will not be buying them".. So needless to say I was fuming and decided not to bother with the other companies.. A fellow homeschooling mom was coming down the isle and nicely suggested for me to call the local Health Food Store.. So she got the number and I called.. Luckily Yes they had make-up my dd could use... BUT we go to pick it up today and I about  went into cardiac arrest right then and there when the lady gave me my total for my purchase..  I bought a small, and I do mean small container of foundation powder and blush maybe a couple of ounces of each or maybe an ounce.. And that was it.. The total was... Are you ready for this $ 42 ... Oh yeah I was stroking my dd is 7 yrs old and I just spent $42 on make-up that she has to have a total of 4 days.  Luckily I can use it after that.. But I would never have bought that for myself.. But she had to have it and I couldn't take any chances on normal make-up.. So yeah I need my head examined...  But she's worth every penny..She has worked so hard for the "Cinderella Musical" and is so excited that she is going to be on the local tv station talking about the play.. So I didn't want her to look all washed out and sick.. So I bought the "golden" make-up...lol.. I feel insane doing so.. but I did it just the same..

Well last night was their first practice with the live orchestra.. The show starts Thur. .. I'm so proud of my dd.. It is amazing to me to see her on stage with all those older kids.  It's the local high school's play, she is the youngest person in the cast.  She is only 7 years old.. I could have never done what she is doing as a child.. But she loves it and begged me last year to let her go audition.  And she was in their christmas play "A Christmas Carol" last year at the age of 6..  It is simply amazing to watch her, she shines on stage.. Her love of drama, singing and dancing shines.  She loves it so much.. Sorry for going on and on.. But I can't help it I'm so proud of her...  :)

I wish you all could come watch her....lol..

My dh got a call from Workman's Comp today the poor man is having all this trouble and they want him to go see if he can be sent back to work on light duty.. Are they crazy.. He can't breath without wheezing and can't have his second surgery until his lungs get better.  Arrrgggh  What are they thinking.. Well he has to miss our dd first performance because he has to travel to TN to see the dr.  I hope that dr. tells WC they are insane.. That he can't come back until he can breath normally and has his surgery redone.. It's not his fault he can't work they should have had safety nets up to begin, and he wouldn't have gotten hurt and would not be having all these problems..

Okay I guess I am done venting again for now.

Then after worship we went to my mom & dad's for supper.  Unfortunately my dh wasn't able to go anywhere today, he is having so much trouble with his lungs.  He is still up at night wheezing and coughing it's also bad during the day but it's worse at night. My dd in the local Cinderella Musical

My dd is going to be in the Cinderella Musical next week on Thurs.-Sat.  They have 7 shows to do, and have been practicing since late Sept.  She has worked so very hard and we are so proud of her.. I wish you could all come see her..  She is so precious.  She is a little townsgirl in the opening scene with 2 solo parts, then next she is a maid in the King & Queens palace and they have this hard kick line to do, then she  has a gavote dance at the ball and in the last scene she is Cinderella's flower girl.. She is so excited she loves everything about  being on stage and really shines up there.. Of course you can tell I'm a very proud mommy... I could have never done that especially at the age of 7.. Wow..

February 23, 2008

Well didn't get any sleep last night dh was up every couple of hours coughing and wheezing.  He is having alot of problems with his lungs and the drs can not figure out what is causing all of his trouble.  He got hurt at work back at the end of July 2007.  He herniated a disc in his neck.  He had Surgery in Sept.  When the dr did the surgery to replace the disc, the disc fragmented and the dr missed part of it.  So he did the fusion and left a piece of the fragmented disc lodged in the nerve root going down his rt arm.. So after surgery he never got any better.  Workmen's Comp sent him to a new dr.  Who discovered the fragment.  So he has to have the surgery again completely over.  Since his 1st surgery he has been having severe breathing problems, several infections and has been on several rounds of antibotics, does nebulizer treatments several times a day, on an inhaler and has had several rounds of steroids for his lungs.  But he isn't getting better and they do not know why.. So now he has started seeing a Pulmonologist (sp?) This dr has started a round of testing to see if the can find what is wrong.. So there isn't alot of sleep going on around here many nights.. He's up wheezing and coughing and well I'm up also..

Okay on a good note.. Today we had Girl Scouts... I'm the Asst. Leader of my dd GS troop.  Today they learned about clowns.. They made crafts and had a blast.

Tomorrow she has play practice I'll write a entry on that  to tell all about the "Cinderella Musical" she is in, she loves all the acting, singing  and dancing..
