I need a plan

Posted in Daily life

Oh, Ugh! I need a plan! We have a schedule but I honestly think I need something in writing posted on the wall for all of us to see and for my own accountability. You know if I write it down the kids think it needs to happen, so let it be said so let it be done. Plus, maybe my husband seeing a schedule will help me stay on track, I know there is enough time to do what needs to be done, I must be mismanaging time.  I really, really want to work on it tonight but after this is posted I am going to get to sleep so I can begin our day on time tomorrow. Tomorrow afternoon is piano day and if we don't get up on time the morning is gone and we haven't finished our morning schooling.

On a lighter note, Baby Blessing is so close to walking, he is standing on his own and he took a step over the weekend. His first year is quickly coming to a close and I find it so difficult to believe! But it is true.

May the Lord find us faithful.

Saturday

Posted in Daily life

Here I am on Saturday about to head off to bed. It has been a full but relaxing day. I do have one question? Do you realize how much work clothing is? I have 4 Precious Blessings and that adds up to alot of clothing. I don't buy much but I do have to buy a few things, some clothing comes by way of hand me downs, I do a little thrift shopping and a little retail sale shopping, some comes in wonderful packages in the mail from Nana(I love these).

Work created by clothing:

  • Laundry....multiple loads daily around here
  • Sorting of seasonal and worn out and too small clothing
  • Finding someone or some place to pass on used clothing(I have 2 boxes and two bags next to the front door right now to pass on and take to the resale shop)
  • Buying or making new clothing ===I would love to make more clothing but I am barely taking care of the daily life requirements at this time...soon, I will sew, the girls are at the age to begin learning.
  • I am sure there is more.....

Now, I am happy for all this clothing work because it means:

  • I have people here that need clothing, precious little people that call me Mommy and oh, that little guy who is learning to say Ma-Ma, sounds more like Mu-Mu, I don't care what he/they call me as long as they call me!
  • I have the health and energy to take care of the clothing needs for these people
  • They have clothes to wear....we lack nothing, need nothing, want very, very little
  • I know how to sew even though I don't do any right now, I have a sewing machine.

Speaking of those little people, they are all bathed and tucked into their beds and the only noise I hear is the heat running through the pipes and the DRYER!!!

Are you prepared to Worship tomorrow?....Sunday's worship preparations begin on Saturday.

I am going to go do a little more preparing then off to sleepy by land.

May the Lord find us faithful.

Life

Posted in Daily life

Our days have been filled with work, work and more work and lots of play as well.

The first picture is of our baby blessing enjoying some time with Dad upon Dad's arrival home from work. This is a special time for Dad and all blessings.

This is what happens when one has older siblings:

The Robin's eggs hatched and she has babies, they are growing quickly. This poor robin built her nest right next to my clothes line and she has great stress the entire time I am hanging and retrieving laundry.

We have been meeting friends at different play grounds around town each week. Last week most of our blessings were able to pile on but not all.

Here is baby blessing and his little friend sitting together after they both had lunch. It was a windy day, see that baby girl's hair blowing in the wind? That is precious.

Here is one last picture that was taken today, Blessing #4 was 6 months old today! Here he is with big brother. I am so thankful for my helpful older blessings, they love to hold and watch while I do quick little jobs around the house.

Fall freezer defrost

Posted in Daily life

Defrosting the freezer is one of those jobs that my sweetheart usually does, I help a little. ( I really dislike this job) But he is hunting today and I am here to do it alone in great anticipation that in a few days we will need defrosted, cleaned and neatly organized freezer space to store fresh moose meat. I made a huge watery mess. But now it is all clean and closed up to begin its job as freezer. In a couple of hours I will go out and load it back up. That part I enjoy doing. I like to have all of the items organized neatly and by like item. So, this I am glad to do alone. Well, the girl blessings will help. We have not had much of a girly day yet, but we will get to some crafts and cooking this afternnon and evening.

May the Lord find us faithful.

Busy day

Posted in Daily life

Last night right before I was heading to bed my sweetheart called, He was coming home!!! I had been totally unproductive all weekend. Thankfully, I had been neat and kept the kitchen cleaned and the house straighten. So, I moved kids around, the girls were in my bed and had to go to their own beds for the night. Then I threw a load of towels in the washer to get a head start on Monday since my day would be different than I had planned. So, I watched Pollyanna again while the towels washed.

So, my day has been spent grocery shopping, putting groceries away, washing clothes, cooking dinnner, and making breakfast burritos for the hunters to take out on their hunt. Blessing #1 is going with this time out so he is thoroughly thrilled about his first big game hunt with the men.

We will enjoy some girly time tomorrow!!! Plus, we have two boxes at the post office from Rainbow Resources that I have been waiting for so I will enjoy opening those. Then, I have to find places to put it all!!!

May the Lord find us faithful.

Pollyanna

Posted in Daily life

Masterpiece Theatre - Pollyanna DVD Cover Art

The blessings and I just finished watching this movie and it was great! I cannot recommend this movie enough. I have to admit that I have not read the book which is not normal for me. I have the "read the book and then watch the movie" philosophy. But this was the best movie on the library movie shelf. This movie is also overdue and the only reason I remembered that I checked it out was that I went to the library to check out some books that I had requested online and she asked if I had returned it. Fortunately, our library is great about late books and movies. We promptly came home and after settling in we watched the overdue movie. I cried and cried. The Disney version is all fluff and noise compared to this version. I am also going to be requesting Pollyanna in book version as soon as I post this entry. It will be our next read aloud.  I also just read a review of Pollyanna and it makes me even more anxious to read this book to the blessings (and probably on my own first as I have one read aloud going, I am impatient). Then, (this post is a little like "If you give a moose a muffin...." Since I watched this movie and then realized we needed to read the book, I then realized that I should get back to listing my occassional "good book" posts as I did in the winter.  Oh, it hurts to get sidetracked so easily!!

May the Lord find us faithful.

Tuesday

Posted in Daily life

Even though my house does not look like it completely, I did accomplish much today.

The to-do list:

1. Laundry

2.Mop

3.Empty dishwasher and refill and run

4.vacuum rug at front door

5. school

6.remove winter clothes from girls closet

7. hang cleaned summer clothes in girls closet

8.go for a walk

I think that was it, I would like to blink and my house be clean, organized and every little project completed, but that is  not reality. Reality is that the work needs to be done by me. Tomorrow I have some little people coming by while their Mom goes to the dentist, so I am unsure what kind of day I will have. I so desire a routine day. It has not happened for a while now but we should get there on Wednesday, well, not Wednesday, we have a rescheduled piano lesson that day and then church, so we will aim for Thursday. Next week should resemble more of a "normal" week for us. I think the calendar is empty for that week.

I am looking forward to the used curriculum fair, last year was my first year to go and I found some wonderful things and hope to find more wonderful things this year.

The blessings had a wonderful day outside after school work was finished and cleaned up, until blessings #2 and #3 decided to take up tree climbing, blessing #1is very cautious and just watched and suggested they not climb trees. Blessing #2 fell and scraped up her arm pretty good. I had to clean and bandage the wound and she was still a little dramatic about the whole thing with little "ows" when she would move here arm. I gave her ibuprofen after dinner and she seemed less sensitive to movement. Time flew this evening, by the time I noticed, it was nine o'clock and baths still had to be had by all(I had sprayed them down with bug spray). Blessing #1 ended up going to bed on his own(that has never happened) while I got the other two bathed and ready for bed and it was about 10:45 before they got to bed. I hurried up and mopped and got the bathtub cleaned and the bathroom put back together and decided to post a quick post before heading off for my shower and few minutes to read before crashing.

That is pretty much our day in a nut shell.

May the Lord find us faithful.
