Feb. 15, 2006 - It's about Time
Well, I thought it was high time to update my blog. I've tried several times to write, but it always came out sounding so melancholy. I don't want my friends to think I'm living in the depths of despair. So I decided today is the perfect day to write. The sun is shining brightly and my herbs and flowers are starting to grow in their little starting pots. I love spring. I love the flowers in my front yard that are starting to bloom and I wonder what else will come up. I'm anxious to begin my first vegetable garden in this house. In fact, it has been several years since I've had a garden. I always seem to have way too much zucchini, but I can't resist planting it. I can't wait to plant sunflowers, corn, tomatoes, basil, broccoli, lettuce, cilantro, eggplant, spinach, peas, carrots, and whatever else catches my fancy. Hey, I just remembered that I had chives at my last house that was from my friend Rebeca from many years ago. I don't know what happened to it. I'll have to start all over with chives. I remember my first garden at the Great Commission School in McMinnville with Ali and Rebeca. Christopher wasn't even a year old yet. He was hanging out in the garden in his cloth diaper until a spider crawled down it and I ripped it off in a panic! He ate lots of dirt. . .um, soil that day!
All this reminiscing pumps me up for the sowing and reaping!

...what memories we have! Those were good times. I've been getting excited about gardening too, and we are having to start from nothing again. Peregrine is excited to plant things, and so am I.
Love you,
Beca

I love thinking back to those days! On the days that I always feel down, or overwhelmed, or just not feeling real loving, I think back to those days at GCS. What sweet memories! Life has come so far since then!! It always puts a smile on face.
