My Sweet, Chilly Deal

It seems I have been extra busy of late.  I realized this morning that I haven't blogged in a few days.  Usually, I have plenty to blog about, but for some reason I was a bit stumped and so far hadn't blogged anything in my head yet (my pre-writing method in a nutshell).  So as I find myself with a spare 15 minutes or so, I sat down at the computer with a blank brain.  I mean it...totally blank.  Zip. Nada. Zilch.

For some reason I browsed my Homeschool Blogger profile and found that I had listed as one of my interests "bargain shopping."  While it is true, I don't recall an entry ever devoted to bargain shopping before.  So I ran downstairs to snap a photo of my latest Goodwill find, and now here I am blogging about it.  And by the way, wasn't "chilly" a former late 80s/early 90s expression that meant "sweet" or "cool" or "righteous" or "tubular"?  I think it did....otherwise just ignore my attempts to be retro-hip.

Ta-da!  Annaleigh needed a new coat this year and browsing the rack of Goodwill this weekend I found this little baby, brand new and costing a mere $10!  The increasingly picky pre-teen liked it, it fit reasonably well, so home it came with us.  It's finds like this that make the frustrating trips to Goodwill worthwhile....the trips where I leave with 2 books that I probably won't read, a white frizzy wig for a Halloween costume, and a belt made out of bottlecaps.  This is something that will be well used, that no one will ever suspect was bought second-hand, and cost well below retail.  Yay for me!

And so there you have it, my bargain shopping entry.  Thrilling, eh?  Now, if you'll excuse me,  I'll just go back to blank-brain mode.

How come I never find anything like that? (Unless you count the leopard print mini-skirt I bought for $7 once...) ;P

we are regular patrons of our local Goodwill also. My daughter and I call it a treasure hunt. My son, on the other hand, finds a spot on some old coach, chair, or other flat surface, and watches the cart as it fills up. We usually try on a ton of things but come out with maybe 2 or 3. My daughter trys to convince me that the shirt that shows off her belly button is not to revealing. Problem is it also shows her entire middle from the neck down. LOL Seriously though, love the Goodwill. If you wait long enough, everthing comes back in style.
Hope your mental block is over soon.

I love bargain shopping, not that I always have the time anymore! But I am always thrilled with a good buy.
Yes, I think the Parthenon I saw on tv was in your neck of the woods! How neat that you don't have to travel too far to see it! lol
Blessings,
Laurie
