Please Welcome My Special Guest: Big D and Company

Posted in humor

Ya'll are in for a treat....sort of.  Big D, my husband and partner in crime, is allowing me to show you the world premiere of his first-ever rap video!  He is all about helping me try to win Funniest Homeschool Blog.  He is sweet, generous, and I only had to scratch his back for thirty minutes for the exclusive rights to show this footage.

OK, a few things you should know about the video before viewing....

  1. Big D does not make a living musically.  Three years ago, on his 35th birthday, a friend of ours who has a recording studio, allowed D to record a rap single for posterity or something.  That is the music you hear in the video.  The rapping and beat-boxing are all Big D.  The music and special effects are heard courtesy of Scott Dotta and the Retro Room.
  2. This video was made for an upcoming Christmas party for the large physical therapy company that Big D works for.  The four women that you see are actually his business office employees.  The African American gentlemen that you see is a homeless man that they met by the railroad tracks in Nashville where they were filming.
  3. You really are seeing the premiere.  This will be viewed by over 600 people on Saturday evening, but you are first, you lucky dogs!
  4. Big D did not use a stunt double.  He really can do the worm.  His back has been somewhat of a mess this week, but he can do it.   Don't worry too much, though.  Remember he works for a physical therapy company, and he'll be promptly lectured after the showing of this video about proper back care/health.

And now, allow me to introduce,  (insert drumroll...) Big D: Closet MC....

Please pray for Mr. Scales.  Ironically, Big D had just inquired about volunteering at the Rescue Mission where Mr. Scales hangs out sometimes, so he is hoping to see him again.  They really had a great time together and had good rapport.  Big D would love to get to know him better and be a part of his life, as he shares the love of Christ with him.  You might also say a prayer for Big D's back.  Thanks.

Big D. Give it up for his 'gangsta self''. You have such a fun family. Ever think of moving back south? Have fun at the Christmas party. I'm sure the movie will be a hit.
Praying for your hubby's back and for the call on his heart.
Ginny

I'm impressed! Seriously! Your man can actually sing!
But the best part is The Worm. I can flop like a fish. I can do Dead Bug. But there's no way I could do the fish equivalent of a moonwalk....

Praying here!

Ok.....I'm in the middle of writing a "shameless plug" for you and Arby. I came over to check my facts about your blog and found this....

That was awesome!! Tell Big D I think he's da bomb. My favorite part was when he was "rolling" over the big stones at the end. I think he is more talented than 100% of the rap "artists" that are out there unfortunately, that's not saying much!

I am always amazed... I'm not sure who Damon got his moves and abandon from -- must be a middle child thing!! (PW would definitely agree!)

My fave part was the very end as well... hilarious!!

Oh, by the way, in reference to the photo on my blog. If I'd been referring to me I'd have said "I think a see a good BIG girl!! ;) I did laugh and turn red when I saw what you were talking about.

Unfortunately the sound on our computer is not working and so I could not enjoy the video to it's fullest, but your husband does a pretty good 'worm'! My dh has a heart for homeless people as well.

Well, Big D has done it again! Braden was watching with me and wanted to know what Uncle D was doing on the ground (when he was doing the worm). Too funny!

You go, Big D!

Kellieann, if I kiss the boss for you, as in, I give her a kiss and say, "That's from Kellieann," I fear I may have some marital issues. But I will tell her, "Thank you." And she will continue to work on votes for us next week.
