Aug. 3, 2007 - Show and Tell

CanadaGirl hosts a Show and Tell each Friday.

Check out her blog for details!

These photos are from our trip back in April.

Somewhere just east of Amarillo, Texas on I-40 there is this huge cross..........

It's so flat out there that you can see it for quite a distance.

We pulled over to check it out and discovered a museum of sorts.  There were statues for each station of the cross, like this:

This is an angel in the empty tomb................HE IS RISEN!

Then there was this statue for the sanctity of life, dedicated to the millions of aborted children.

So, if you're ever driving across I-40 in the panhandle of Texas, i recommend stopping to check out this place.  I'm sure it has a name.  There is a nice gift shop there (with clean bathrooms to boot) and they were still building some new things.

Post A Comment!

Wow you are sooooooooooo blessed to be able to see this. I just started to weep when I saw the statue of Jesus holding the aborted child. Thank goodness they are in Heaven. I use to be able to be in the Walk for Life. They don't have one where we are. )0= Thank you for joining S&T Friday ! ((hugs))

There is one sort of similar to this one we saw on our way to Arkansas. I am trying to remember where. It was south-west of St. Louis I am thinking. I will have to ask my DH, the brain of the family! Nice post.

I really like the sanctity of human life one... I miscarried a child at about 16-17 weeks and while I know this statue is meant to be about abortion, it touches my heart with comfort for my baby girl, Sarah Hope, who is in Heaven.

Wow! that's so beautiful. We saw the same cross from interstate 81 or 75,during our vacation to Tenn. I didn't get my camera quick enough to take a picture. The way it was just so, lite up & calm & inviting at night. We gotten to see two of those Cross's from the interstate. Each time, I felt so warm & safe just driving down the interstate.

I'm so happy you/your family had a wonderful vacation there.
