"It is only by introducing the young
to great literature, drama, and music,
and to the excitement
of great science,
that we open to them
the possibilities
that lie within the human spirit--
enable them to see visions
and dream dreams."

It does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble, or hard work.
It means to be in the midst of those things and still be calm in your heart."

One is as though nothing is a miracle.
The other is as if everything is."

Sep. 25, 2007 - Kade's Prayer
I have to write this one down before i forget.........
Three-year-old Kade prayed for our lunch today. This is what he said:
.
"Thank you God for the food.
Thank you for my dad and mom.
Thank you for Cale hitting me and saying he is sorry.
Thank you for Skittles on Sundays.
Amen."
.
Talk about praying for your enemies or heaping burning coals or maybe he was just telling on his brother via a prayer, but i'm not sure he is thinking on that level yet. As far as Skittles goes, i dole out Skittles on Sunday afternoons in proportion to the points they've accumulated during the week for chores and behaviour.
Little ones have the cutest prayers. My three year old son oftens make me smile during his prayers. If I would look up at my husband I am sure I would sometimes laugh.
Check out my blog . I am new. I really like yours!
You'll be in my prayers--for a safe arrival our your second daughter Hope.
SchoolinRhome
The prayers of three-year are so sweet and heartfelt. They also get to the point. :)
I was noticing your menu on the side and am curious to know what Chili Frito Pie is. Maybe you could add a recipe now and again.
I'm looking forward to seeing your new blog design. We are on vacation now and the laptop I am on (catching up) only has a plain background, etc. -- Amy
