"It is only by introducing the young

Nov. 23, 2007 - Follow up on Thanksgiving
First, i am thankful that Joy didn't get burned! I was putting the corn casserole into the oven and my hair was hanging down to where i had no peripheral vision. Joy had quietly come up behind me and when i was putting up the oven door, there she was with her hand outstretched inches from the hot door. Made my heart stop to see how close it was to her getting burned with the oven at 400 degrees.
.
We had a lovely meal when Rick got home last night. I let all the boys eat on the nice china....they thought that was kinda cool. The Tur-Duc-Hen was okay. I won't be rushing out to get it in the future. I'm glad i made my cranberry-orange sauce to go with it. Honestly i'd rather have just a turkey. We have quite a bit left over, so we'll be eating on it this weekend.
.
My very first pumpkin pie turned out quite well. It was Joe's first time to ever eat pumpkin pie and he is almost eight years old. Rick hasn't been able to eat it in years, due to the egg allergies, too. I liked it so well that i will never buy a pumpkin pie from the store again. Everyone liked it and it was very yummy.
Thank goodness Joy didn't get burned. And didn't you say you made the pumpkin pie without eggs? What is the recipe? I'm just curious because my Sarah is allergic to raw eggs. Thankfully she can eat anything that has egg in it, as long as it's cooked. But she's learning to bake, and she is learning how to wash hands right away after touching raw egg and such (it's not a huge allergy). But to find a recipe where she could bake a pumpkin pie without egg would be interesting to try. If you don't want to make and entry out of it you could PM or email me, if you want. I'm just really interested in it. Thanks.
JoAnn
We make an eggless pumpkin pie. I don't know if they have dairy allergies but if you take pumpkin and vanilla ice cream and cool whip, put it in a graham cracker crust and refrigerate it. It is a great alternative.
