Apr. 10, 2008 - Rainy Day

The storms seem to be farily well past us now.  Thankfully it wasn't too bad.  The sirens did go off once as there was a tornado in another part of the county.  We didn't take cover or anything as we knew we weren't in danger.  A lot of schools in our state are closed due to flooding.  Here are some photos i took of our yard.  Mind you, we live on a hillside, near the top........

This is next to our driveway.  There are a couple of inches  at least of rushing water.

This is part of our backyard right next to the house looking out the kitchen window.  The rain was still coming down hard, so its not a great photo.  It looks like 3 or 4 inches of rushing water out there.  You can see more water pouring out over and through the stones of the wall under the fence.  We do have drainage pipes under all that water and they were working hard, but there was just too much water for it to keep up.

.

My neighbor just called.  She had her baby this morning.  His heart rate kept dropping, so they had to do a C-Section.  The cord was wrapped double around his neck.  He is a tiny 4 lbs. 10 oz. and his temp is low, but otherwise he is doing well.

.

Oh, almost forgot,  Joe goes back to the dr. in the a.m. for a re-check.  Probably more x-rays and CBC.  He'll be done with his antibiotic tonight.

So glad to hear that you all are safe. Praying all is well with your little one and the sickness has gone. My youngest has to have a breathing treatment twice a day and uses an inhaler. He has had that curd three times and he is only just now 3 yrs old. Today he is running around like crazy and has not needed the inhaler at all:) PTL!!
My oldest was born weighing in at 4lbs 12 oz. He was a very little guy but today stands 5'7( tall compared to me LOL) and weighs about 140. Healthy and in great shape. He may have had a small start but let your friend know they catch up fast! Praying for this newborn . Be blessed,
Stacy
