"It is only by introducing the young
to great literature, drama, and music,
and to the excitement
of great science,
that we open to them
the possibilities
that lie within the human spirit--
enable them to see visions
and dream dreams."
Eric Anderson

It does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble, or hard work.
It means to be in the midst of those things and still be calm in your heart."

One is as though nothing is a miracle.

So quiet down cobwebs!
Dust, go to sleep!

Jul. 16, 2008 - Backyard Project
Here are some photos of what we were able to accomplish with the excavator over the weekend.
We met our goals and got the digging done that was needed. We dug up a lot of large rock, breaking through a layer of sandstone, that would not have been possible with shovels.
We took all the dirt that we dug up and put it on the "top level" of the yard. Once the wall is built we will go and level out the dirt up there and on the bottom of course. Then we'll look into building a playground set and some raised beds for a garden.
The kids did help out quite a bit taking their small wheelbarrel full of dirt up to the top and dumping it and also helped with some digging that had to be done with the shovel. Now they are having a great time playing in all that dirt!
You all are doing GREAT ! I can't wait to see how all this develops into a beautiful haven for you and your family. I can just imagine it !
Well of course the kids played in the dirt ! lol I bet they had a blast. And there were lots of baths. [0;
I wish there was a way you could post twice a week. I miss you too much with only one. Okay, I should be quiet. I am sooooooo glad you are still blogging and not stopping all together. Let me know if you post so can come read it. (((HUGS)))
