Feb. 2, 2009 - Superbowl
I grew up watching football and playing football with the neighborhood boys. I loved the game. I was such a tomboy. I was all about the Dallas Cowboys and Tom Landry. I used to be upset that girls weren't allowed to play real football.
.
Then I grew up and married a guy who really is not into sports. On many counts I am thankful for that. He is not glued to the tube and screaming from the living room sidelines. Truth be told, I am probably the last one in our house to scream at a quarterback on our TV.
.
In our early years we would host Superbowl parties or attend them, mostly to watch the commercials and be with friends. We can root for a team with the best of them.
I can get into Arkansas Razorback football when they are having a good year, but on their off-years, I don't miss watching/listening to the games.
.
Our children are so NOT into sports. It's almost a shame, almost. They do like baseball and we do take them to some ball games here and there. Joe is our most athletic and he is most interested in track and field. That was a tangent..............
.
Anyhow, last night our pastor laughingly invited anyone who was interested to crash their place after church and watch the game that was being recorded. My husband called him on it and we did pick up a couple of pizzas at Little Ceasars and "crashed their pad." It was so much fun! The kids had a great time playing with their little ones and we enjoyed the game and being able to fast forward through any commercials that seemed inappropriate. OK, so really we enjoyed being with friends and the game was okay, but I wanted the Cardinals to win.
We are not at all interested in football around here. Am I allowed to admit that we never even put the tv on that channel all day. LOL! Glad you had at nice time at your pastors house.
Blessings,
Dawn
We are big football fans here, and we had friends over to watch the game. My, we got loud. :) We were going for the Cardinals, our friends for the Steelers. It was a great time, well all accept for the ending score. ;)
Glad you took your pastor up on the idea and had fun with them. That is always a blessing.
