Jun. 1, 2009 - Family Fun

Aye!  I've been so busy, but it's a good busy.
I had a wonderful date with my husband Thursday.  Then on Friday we decided to hit the road and take a trip into the Ozarks for some fun with the children.  We sooooo wanted to camp, but had other commitments for Saturday, so a quick day trip had to do.

We had a lovely picnic, visited Blanchard Springs Caverns (well worth it), played in the creek, did some geocaching and other exploring and generally wore ourselves out.  We didn't get home til late at night, but it was such a fun day together.  Here are some photos from our day:

Saturday came and we went to the library for their kick-off carnival for summer reading club.  Daddy went and spoke at an Aviation workshop, so he missed out on our fun, BUT he did get to fly a plane for the first time.  I am soooooo glad I didn't know he was doing that 'til after the fact, especially since it was an experimental aircraft.

The children and I worked and played in the yard.  We picked our first ripe tomatoes and nibbled on our home-grown lettuce.  YUM!
I also got to go to a homeschool sale and buy some of our consumable workbooks at a discount, so that was good.

On Sunday we had church and then had friends over to visit.  It was wonderful to see my friend from Cambodia again.  She and her family need much prayer as they make some tough choices.

Today, the insurance adjuster came and took a look at our shower.  The estimated cost to fix it is just below our deductible so we will withdraw our claim.  We just weren't sure what we were getting into when we first discovered the mold and water damage.  Thankully, it is not as extensive as we feared and Rick will be able to do most of the work himself.  Now if he just had the time to do it....

Now, I'm off to visit a friend and also to the farm to buy milk!

It looks like you guys had a wonderful time. You are a very good photographer too! I know of others who have visited Blanchard Springs and enjoyed it. I must go there some day.

I know we were so close to you. We seriously need to get our act together and PLAN a trip ahead of time instead of these last-minute jaunts. Then I'd have to time to contact people and set up a meeting.

What's funny is that it was on my mind to go this last weekend. Only, I probably wouldn't have recognized you even if we were sitting next to each other, lol.
