Ushers Syndrome

For those of you who have been reading my blog from the start you know that two of our children were recently diagnosed with Ushers Syndrome Type 1. This is an incurable disease where our children were born profoundly deaf and will become legally blind as well, before they are 20 years old. There are about 10-15,000 people with Usher Syndrome in the United States today. There is currently no medical treatment for Usher Syndrome. Research and genetic testing is currently being conducted. Please take time to find out more about fighting Usher's Syndrome by visiting HearSeeHope.

I have never heard of that before!
Thank you for educating me. I'll look at that site, and it'll be a great resource for our 5 senses study we're doing this week. I've got a book Mom Can't See but it will probably be different to see about children.

God Bless You
Jessica

Can I share this on my prayer requests? Let me know if there's anything you'd like prayed for specifically...

Peace Be Still
I long to hear Jesus say the words "Peace Be Still" in the mist of our trials. Then it would all be over & we could enjoy the calm seas in life. I strongly believe in God's healing power. I know it's more rare these days, but He still heals. I've seen with my own eyes many healings in my life that happen so quickly that I have thought myself "What manner of man is this, that even the wind and sea obey him?" It's amazing when it happens and discourging when it doesn't.
We are holding your dc's up in prayer before God! Please pray for my dw's blindness. She does great most of the time, but sometimes when knocks over a glass or trips over a chair, etc that our dc's have set in her way It hit's her emotions hard. She locks herself in the bedroom and crys it out and ask why God? It tears me apart to see her like this when she tells me, you don't understand. I feel so helpless and powerless to do anything about it. So I have cried out to God many times myself for her. We certainly cannot always understand everything of God or His purpose in our lives. But He is the potter and we are the clay. It's not always pleasant but it must be nessesary in His way of perfecting us. God only knows. Trust in Him.
Trusting in Him for a miracle; Elton
