Aug. 6, 2007 - Good Monday Morning!!

Posted in Homeschool

Wow!  It has been so busy over the last few days ... I can't believe a week has gone by since I have posted!!  I have spent my computer time visiting Homeschool 2007 Open Houses -- I'm about halfway through.  Of course I can't just read your open house posts.  I have to wander around your blog, getting to know you all a bit better .... then follow your links to other wonderful sites .... and read those blogs ... and follow those links ......   LOL!!  I have added a number of you to my blogreader, and I think I'm going to have to carve out an extra hour of computer time daily to keep up!!  I wonder if my body can handle getting up at 4 am instead of 5!!

This week, my plans are to sort through and organize our school area.  I need to pull everything we are not going to use, then haul the rubbermaid containers of past curriculum out of the closet and go through that to see what we can use this year.  I realized the other day that I have lots of early elementary stuff that I won't be needing anymore ... I have taught K-5th grades for the last time (sniff).  :o(

Where do you all recommend that I advertise this stuff?  Should I try to sell it on ebay, or are there other more homeschool friendly sites to post it on?

I have gotten many nice comments and several questions from people visiting here this past week.  Keep checking back ... I plan to answer those questions in a future post.  :o)

Also, Tamara over at Training Hearts  is hosting a very neat give-away called “Pass the Button“.

passbutton

This stems from a tradition in their family to secretly bless one another by doing a chore or deed and then leaving a small pillow with a button sewn to it to signify what was done, with the person who has been “gifted” then finding something to do for someone else, similar to “pay it forward.”  This contest runs until August 25th, with Tamara giving away a number of useful e-books and other prizes as a means of blessing others for their support of her and her family through a very difficult time.

I hope you will come by again. As for your curriculum, while the 2007 open house is going on and everyone is going from blog to blog, I would post it right on your blog.

And whatever you have left, take to EBAY or to your local used Book Store. Our Christian Bookstore has a used curriculum section that I adore!

Because of Jesus, Bobbie

PS You will be surprised how quickly the grandchildren arrive and need them so SAVE your favorites!

Hi! Thanks for stopping by my blog. I actually have listed part of what curriculum I am going to be using on my other blog. The URL of it is: www.homeschoolblogger.com/eclecticeducation if you want to stop by. :) I listed it in my Homeschool Open House.

I am a Christian wife and homeschooling mother to 6 beautiful children ... 12, 13, 17 19, 26, and 29. Yes, we had them in sets of two!! We are homeschooling the youngest 4, the 5th just moved back home for a spell, and the sixth is getting married in November. We also raise Pomeranian and Shih-Tzu puppies. I love reading mysteries, crocheting, scrapbooking, and reading other like-minded blogs. :o)
