Aaaahhhhh .... the first day of our Christmas break! The biggest decisions I have to make today are ...
- whether to knit or blog
- tame GoogleReader or play with puppies
- read a book to the kids or teach them a new game
- bake some Christmas cookies or wrap some gifts
We put our tree up last week.
Typically we put up 2 ... a themed, snowman tree in the bay window of our living room, and a family tree in our (duh!) family room!
However, this year our living room is currently acting as a storage room for my 12yo daughter's things while her room is being remodeled. So we opted to put up our little Charlie Brown-type tree in the family room.
My job was to sort out the lights, then pass out the ornaments.
 
Erika, our 19yo, got to put the angel on the top of the tree this year. That privilege rotates through all the children each year.
Some of you have asked how Mercedes is after her traumatic run-in with Eli.
As you can see, she is doing really well! What an amazing puppy ... she is so smart and funny!
Most of us have forgiven Eli ... how can you look at that innocent face and not?!
Our "Pom-Shih" puppies will be six weeks old on Wednesday ... anybody need a puppy for Christmas?!
