Apr. 29, 2008 - Arbor Day!
Posted in Creative Ideas

In honor of Arbor Day, last Friday & to finish off our Earth Day studies, we planted a beautiful tree and painted tin cans for our herb pots.  The seeds were sewn last week & will be transplanted when they are big enough. Once they are inside the tins, I'll take another picture.

I spray painted the outside white, then the kids did the rest

Here's another picture so you get the idea of what we're doing.....

Those pots are so neat. I think ds would love to make some of those. These projects have really perked up our schooling and added more excitement. Yea! I think we are going to make green slime or green soap for some of our green project this week.

I love the pretty cans! Your kids did a great job, and the project is so fun and functional. :')

Very nice tree, too. I was so tempted to pick one up at Sam's Club this week. They had trees for very reasonable prices!!!

Those are great Kim! :)

Yes, it will be a very busy time! It already has been, but it'll get busier. :)
The baby is doing well! I actually just had an appt. yesterday. She is growing perfectly! I'm starting to get all those pregnancy symptoms you get in the third trimester (which I won't hit until Monday!). Back pain, horrible heartburn (it kept me up last night and I've never had that happen. It made me nauseous), leg cramps, etc. I'm trying to keep on top of my vitamins - I seemed to have needed them in this pregnancy whereas my others I didn't. But I can tell the difference when I don't take them (esp. the B Complex). Probably because I'm burning calories faster and still nursing every now and then. I'm also trying to stay on top of my water intake and keep away from pop. That helps my energy loads. :) (I still drink my coffee *smile* Only 1-2 cups a day).
How are YOU doing?!

More wonderful projects with your children! I LOVE the planting a tree project. That goes along perfectly with this week's Green Hour Challenge which we've yet to do! And also love the tin cans project, neat!
