I've not been doing well getting things researched and planned for this week. Perhaps b/c my dh is out of state for the week and things aren't 'normal' or perhaps b/c we've been enjoying the warm weather more -- probably a little of both. We finished our formal studies up a couple weeks ago so it's been nice to just concentrate on the fun studies rather than sitting inside with a pencil & paper, even for those short moments we do use them. We will, however, continue working on some math, maybe once every week or so b/c my 3 older kids have state tests this year. There are a couple things I want to make sure I go over with them-- whether they 'get it' or not isn't a concern, but just touch on it at least.
I've been going back & forth on what to do next. First it was clouds, similar to what my friend Melissa is doing. Then I wanted to pull the cloud study together and do a weather study instead b/c I LOVE the weather. I'm still not too sure yet what route we'll go, maybe one of the kids will find or ask something and we'll go with that. But I do know one thing, we're staying outside as much as possible. Not sure how much that will give me to blog about, but if I disappear for a few days here and there that's why.
As the warmer weather continues to show itself I know we'll all be outside more and spending less time on this machine. Even if you're year hasn't come to a close, I encourage you to put those pencils down and head outside. In fact, take the books with you and do some reading together while you work on your tan.

The weather is so wonderful that we have been doing lots more projects outside as well. My son really enjoys those activities too. I do school my daughter, although she takes Spanish II and Chemistry from other teachers, and uses Teaching Textbooks Algebra II so I just have to look over her work and make sure she's doing it.
She has asked to go back to the local public high school for 10th grade. I am not for this, but my hubby said she could. : ( Hopefully, it will not take many days after she starts to decide that she wants to come back to homeschooling.
Hope you are have a great weekend,
Pam
