May. 1, 2008 - Take A Stand!
Posted in Creative Ideas

Take A Stand! this summer by encouraging your kids to be a blessing to otheres! Give to a charity, of your choice, one cup of lemonade at a time. Your kids receive a lemonade stand from Sunkist, you can also print neat banners & signs, all you need to do is fill out a small form online, your child will need to write a small entry as well. What a great way for our children to bless others!!

Photobucket

You can read more on the project, success stories from past years & sign up on the Take A Stand! site, click the stand above to get there. Begin signing up today.

My husband & I are excited to have our kids participate. They are as well since they run their own stand every summer, but this time they get to give instead of receive!!

*** I tried signing up this morning, but it looks like someone on their end hasn't opened up the site just yet, hopefully they will soon, I also have a call into them to see what's up ***

UPDATE

****It's working NOW****

And a special thank you to my mother who shared this neat idea with me!

Hello sweet sister! Actually, I am not nursing Ben, *smile*, but I am occasionally nursing Jeremiah. ;) It is very rare though - only in instances of waking in the middle of the night and he can't go back to sleep. I'm actually surprised I have anything left. LOL

I hope your hubby is able to come in a bit earlier. I know I would miss mine, too, if he were gone all week!

So, we did close on the house yesterday, yay! It went fairly smooth. We had a few $$ surprises, but nothing major. We just need to make some adjustments to our budget for this month. I tell you what, owning a home sure is costly! Not the mortgage, I expected that, but all the "little stuff" you gotta get to go with it! New faucets, new light fixtures, new door locks, new smoke detectors, a new thermostat, etc., etc., lol. It's nickle and diming us to death. Plus we need to have some brick work done on the outside and porch work that is rather "miner", as well as chimney work. Well that "miner" stuff cost us $800! It's crazy!
We will be spending most our time there cleaning and getting things ready for "move-in". We were hoping to move in May 10th, but it all depends on the brick work. It's supposed to rain today and tomorrow, when the guy is supposed to do the work - if it rains, he has to postpone it which would postpone our reinspection. So as of now, I guess it's still really up in the air. I've learned not to set "my" plans in stone because so far, they haven't worked at all, lol.
We do have plenty of help which is awesome. People keep calling and telling us what day they are available to come help and I think it is so awesome! I feel like I haven't actually been able to do much! Yesterday we were there from like 5-9:30pm, and all I got cleaned was the kitchen sink! I was too busy taking care of children. *smile* I suppose my job will be more to direct other people to work, lol. Although, I do hate that because I want to work, too! But the kids are still getting used to the house - we've been there a few times for lengthy periods.
Anyhoo....I'm rambling on and on! I have a busy day ahead of me today, too! Hope you have a fantastic weekend! We will be very busy, obviously! Love ya!
