From His Treasuries - We Have Eggs!

May. 29, 2008 - We Have Eggs!

Well our neighbor does, but we've been offered to be in on the fun as well. My friend, Mrs. K, has a hanging basket of flowers that a mama bird decided was the perfect spot for her little ones.

Here is a picture of two, there are now five! We think the bird might be a Chipping Sparrow or a House Finch b/c of the light eggs and the little bit of specks at the one side.

We are sooooo excited to see them hatch and fly away. What fun!

That is so fun! When we lived in town we had a mourning dove make her nest in my hanging basket on our front porch - and she did this for several years in a row! I couldn't believe it - but come spring time she'd be back. I thought she'd be scared away by my five curious children - but no - she must have had nerves of steel. My kids named her 'Jane' and were convinced they could always tell her from other doves in our yard. Pretty funny!:) Have fun watching the nest progress. It is so amazing! -Becky
