Anyone use Teach your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons? You'd think after teaching 3 others to read this would naturally flow.  I used two different things for my older three and I'm on the hunt for what to use for my 4th. I've used Abeka, Hooked on Phonics, Explode the Code and something else, but obviously it was't that great, b/c I can't remember the name! 

Of all of the ones I've tried, I really like Explode the Code. My little guy isn't quite ready for that -- yet he really wants to read. So I've researched and really like what others have to say about 100 Easy Lessons.  It was taught to young children, which is where my 4th kiddo falls. He is young ( will be 3 in a week and a half but I wouldn't start him on it til at least fall time ) and is eager to read. YAY! I'm an avid reader so this thrills my heart. If he is willing, why not? If it doesn't work out, thats ok too. We're in no hurry. I'll just keeping reading to him myself and letting him retell the story.

Any thoughts on this curriculum or any other reading material for pre-schoolers?

Ok girls. I want to pick your brains on what you use for language.

 I've used Abeka, LLATL, LifePacs, & EasyGrammar/Daily Grams. We are just about to wrap up our Language curriculums -- both my 5th grader and my two 3rd graders. My 5th grader is getting a little tired of Easy Grammar/Daily Grams. I like it, but yes, I agree with her, it might be time for a change. After a few years of using it, it's getting BORING! 

 My friend, Cari, mentioned Growing With Grammar and I've emailed the author of this curriculum with all of my questions. I'm leaning towards it at this point. I'm not too keen on the 'diagramming' part, I don't think it’s really that necessary. ( don't throw shoes at me, its just my opinion ) It's not the bulk of the curriculum so I can either teach it or skip it and it would still work out fine.  So what do you all use and what are your opinions on them?
