"Is there anything wrong with drawing attention to the eyes?" Well, no, I don't think so, but what I meant was "back when" everyday (and high society) women didn't wear makeup. The women at the saloons did and it was to catch guys' attention. I remember reading in Gone with the Wind that Mammy was appalled when Scarlett wanted makeup because she was so pale. Makeup wasn't for those type of folks. It was for those who were trying to draw attention to themselves and looked "prettier" and then it just became a trend we now all accept. When you see ads for fleshly things you'll usually see the woman batty her eyelashes as to draw attention to herself. I guess that's more what I meant.
Also you said "and it makes me feel prettier" I think here lies the root of why you wear mascara. :) And "Is there anything wrong with drawing attention to the eyes? I can’t wear eyeshadow yet, not till im 16 or 17" Does that mean you will and why do you need eyeshadow? What is the purpose of that?
The Bible speaks of being shamefaced - that means "Bashfully; with excessive modesty". Shouldn't we in all things try not to look like the world?
