My Journey Toward A Trusting Heart

Some recommended books

I'm an avid reader...I think I mentioned some time back that I can read a book in a day...I did that on vacation in FL...

If someone out there can help me understand how to post links to my favorite author sites, that'll make it easier...

THANK YOU so much to Julie Nott, who took better than an hour of her time last night (til after 11pm!) to help me load some items onto my front page here...I'm techno-challenged, and Julie was a great help in this! BUT, I'd really love to learn more, and would love to know how to point you all to a few selected spots...so please drop a line and let me know how to do this!

For the time being, I'd like to share with you what I've recently read...

Right now I'm reading Bill Bennett's "America: The Last Best Hope" -- this is not a read-it-in-a-day book...not even for me! But it IS an exhaustive journey through our nation's history...accurate and insightful. I'm reviewing things I actually do recall hearing about in school, but naturally have forgotten. Its truly fascinating...and I think it's a must have for every home school bookshelf! -- and even those who aren't homeschooling!

Last week I read THREE Clive Cussler books-- can't tell you the titles, but I LOVE Cussler's books. They are clean, but full of action and adventure. They are, I think, a mix of fantasy, sci-fi, espionage, mystery, action/adventure, ... they keep moving and keep you til the last page! There is MILD language, and mild sexual reference. There is nothing gratuitous about any of it.

I also enjoy reading political perspectives...well, only the conservative perspectives! I've read all ( I think?) of Ann Coulter's, including her newest controversial book, "Godless." Believe me, its an eye opener! She's come under fire for some of the content -- as being harsh and unreasonable, but I personally cannot find fault. It all makes sense.

Another good one is Michelle Malkin's "Unhinged." This is TRULY a shocking reveal of how truly 'unhinged' the liberals are...Michelle holds back nothing in telling the ugliness of her opponents...the language is graphic -- she prints, verbatim, the emails and remarks she has personally received because of her ethnicity (Filipino) and her conservative political views. Again, the language is GRAPHIC. She holds back nothing to show the ugly truth...but its another eye-opener for naive people like me, who just cannot imagine people can be so mean and ugly to another person.

Obviously I'm a fan of Brandilyn Collins...please take time to link to the Kanner lake excerpts...it'll hook ya!

I'll post more later...time to take Connor for a haircut!
