Books: the Difference Between Library and School Editions

Ryan and I had the privilege of listening to Mr. Gatto in person a couple of years ago.  His insights are so true.  I love his analogy to the difference between a library and a school in the treatment of books and their readers.
He recognizes the uniqueness of each person and the ability of individuals to learn on their own when they are interested and motivated and don't have artificial boundaries placed on them.

I encourage you to read this and comment on it here.
