Wrapping things up
| Merry Christmas to all
We hope everyone will have a blessed Christmas and New Year.
All is well here in Southern California. We are finally having winter weather...cold and rainy.
Jessica is such an amazing gal. She is plugging along with her "school work". She is loving homeschooling still.
We are wrapping up month four. So ready for a break! Christmas will be reading, movies, and catching up on house stuff. :o)
Rebecca is doing so well at Tuffree. She has her buddies she "hangs out with". "School work" has not been too much for her.
Jessica has decided to teach herself French. She will cont. at a junior college in September of 2009. I do believe it would of been too much for her now.
hugs and prayers,

Onto month four!
| Wow, how times fly. Cannot believe it has been a couple of months since i have blogged. We have been busy. Hope all is fine w/ everyone. We are good here.
Jessica and I have decided to wait on taking French. She has been kept busy w/ learning, workshops, community service, going to a gym and needing to "have PE", and socializing. :o) And they talk about home school children do not get enough. AH!! to that comment. That makes me so irritated.
Anyhow- Rebecca is taking on the public school. She is learning and making friends. She seems happy and content. Home schooling just did not fit her. Her leaning style is quite different than Jessica. That is for sure.
Jessica is writing a report on our travels w/ Oma over last summer. We went on a BIG road trip w/ her. Utah was the best! I fell in love with Kanab, Utah. So beautiful!! I recommend going.
OK talk soon. Take care. |

One Month Done!! WooHoo!!
OK. We have successfully finish one month. Cannot believe it. Jessica is doing well with being by herself...since sis is at "school" now.
She is working on a play. So creative.
We had a good meeting with her instructor. We forgot a few things so will be back on Monday to turn in.
Rebecca is doing well at the public school she is attending. She likes all of her teachers. Keeps up with the home-work. So far not too much.
It is quiet here during the mornings.
In the afternoon I watch two boys (whom are brothers). Which I have enjoyed.
Jessica and I are busy in the morning with reading, language arts, geometry, science, and she is teaching herself French.
Rebecca is taking pre-algebra, science, social science, Language arts, food/nurtri, swat (a study class), and P.E. She likes her classes.
So there ya go. It will be a great year!!

Update on family life
Howdy all! Well there has been a change in our family. Our youngest has decided on trying public school...at least for now. She is attending a local Jr. High school. Her first day was Friday. Went pretty smoothly. Needed to take a math placement test and did all right. She did get into a cooking class..which made her very happy. For the moment she wants to become a chef.
So, next week will be interesting. Wake up early and take one kid to school and come back to home to "school" our High School kid. She loves home school and is doing well. I do hope that our youngest does well in the public system.
Thanks for praying for us.

Hello there. Well, here is an update on life. We had a blast in Arizona with my mom and brother. Wow! Did and saw lots of things! Thanks mom!! What an amazing women of God. Great role model for our girls. She is still going strong at age 75...God is good!! I would love to take care of her one day.
Of course that means waking up at 4:30am...yikes mom!! :o)
Jessica our oldest will be attending Fullerton College in January. The HS did not work out. The class is "full".
Met the new principal for Parkview and she is so nice. We miss you Mrs. Howland.
Rebecca I believe is abit more excited about starting school this year. More comfortable about home-schooling.
The girls have all ready starting their work. I am impressed.
I will try and upload the pictures from Arizona trip soon.
All for now,
Kristi |

Going on vacation...Yippee!
OK we are off early in the morning for Arizona. Us girls are going to be visiting my mom in August. We are so excited to see her. We have not seen each other for two years. Wow..cannot believe it has been that long.
We will be gone for about 3 weeks than we return only to leave again...yikes!
My husband has a surprise for me the last week of August. So we return to start school.
My oldest will be taking French at El Dorado, HS. At least for now. We may try and see about taking French at Fullerton College. Spoke with a very nice woman at F.C. and Jessica will be able to attend there. Just have to speak with our principal..pray!
Well, need to get ready for bed. Yeah it is a bit early but when you have to wake up at 4:00am it isn't so much. :o)
I pray that all are doing well. Thanks for praying for our family.

Back from camp :o) Going to camp :o)
Hello again! Wow I guess I need to update this blog.
Well, Becca came back from camp. She had a lot of fun. Tried new things, met new friends, and had an awesome time worshiping God.
Jessica will be leaving for HS camp soon. She wasn't going to go BUT our youth pastor called and talked my husband into having her go. :o)
She is happy that he took interest in her. That is a cool thing. :o)
Both camps are about a week long. It takes place at Quaker Meadow Camp. Great place to have a youth group camp or family camp.
We are grateful to the staff, camp director, and super counselors. Thank you!

Enjoy the pictures!!

Off to Camp!!
Well, our second daughter is off to camp. Our church and other churches within the Friends denomination camp at Quaker Meadow Camp. A fabulous outreach for kids and families. She is with the junior high group now. WOW!!
She was so excited!! Had been packed for a couple of weeks. :o)
A couple of friends are going and so the fun starts.
They probably just left the church. I was not able to send her off but dad was there and then she told him to go.... :o) Poor guy! He called me on his way to work and said, " she isn't my little girl anymore." How sad!!
I just hope she is remembering to take pictures. :) Moms what are you going to do with us.
Well now that I am alone, i can write a little. Jessica is helping out a friend. She is babysitting for shopping money! yeah baby!!
We are getting new carpet in one bedroom this week while our one daughter is away. She will be surprised when she comes home. We are finally changing rooms. yeah!! My husband is not that excited but it will be good in the long run. The girls are getting older and need more space.
OK all for now. Take care and God bless.

summer time!!!
YAH!!!! Cannot believe that our first year of home schooling is done. The girls ended strong. They finished all the assignments for the month of June. Yeah!!
It was pretty difficult in the beginning but we survived. Getting to know all the kids and families at our home school program was such fun. Everyone was/is helpful, generous, caring, non-judging, ( which is not the case in public school system) and there for you. The teachers are so wonderful!!! Love all!
We are having to say goodbye to our principal, Ms. Howland. She will be serving another school. We will miss her terribly!! Wow, what an amazing women, leader, and friend she is!! Thank you Jackie!!
Our goals for the summer: Jessica has started learning French. So she wants to know the basic stuff before school starts. She will be attending a local HS for that. My husband went there and I have heard that it is a good school. OK, i guess that will have to be...for now. ;) Jessica also is working on her social skills...getting better. We are going to keep working on math and she LOVES to read. So I am going to see that she gets into a book club. :)
Rebecca goals are: keeping up w/ math skills, possibly learning Sign Language, getting into a cooking class, and social skills.
Me- leaning how to live with diabetes, learning Sign Language.
Our home was flooded this past couple of weeks. Our bedroom was the worst so we are getting new carpet. That is such a headache!! One good thing is the girls will be getting our room. They have been waiting a long time. Our room is bigger and so more room for them to be teen agers. Yikes!!
My husband, Mark is doing super at his job. He loves it!! It is a great job. Thanks to those who have been praying.
OK that is a wrap. Talk soon!
K ;)

Update on surgery
OK. Sorry have not updated our blog.
Jessica did great in the surgery. The surgery was a success. The tube was in her ear pretty deep. Sorry no photos...doctor said no. Actually husband said," too gross". Party pooper. :) :)
Well summer is around the corner...yikes!! Cannot believe that the school year is over. We have had an interesting year. We are going to keep home schooling.
Jessica will be in high school...yikes!!! That is hard to believe. I am not old enough for that. :) She is so excited about being a high schooler.
She will be taking honor Lang. Arts, geometry, biology, French, Leadership, PE, and Health. We are working towards attending one of the highly competitive University...her idea. Wow! We were happily surprised.
Rebecca will be a seventh grader. Oh my goodness!
We will be busy this coming school year. :)
We will be having a graduation/promotion on Thursday, June 5th at the Yorba Linda Forum in Yorba Linda, CA.

Surgery Time
Our daughter, Jessica will be having surgery tomorrow by 8am. She will be having a: right fat graft myringoplasty with ventilation tube removal.
Sounds difficult but I have heard from friends that it is a very small procedure and not to worry. WEll, we don't worry about things." Let go and let God".
We have given this procedure to God our Father and He will be glorify through this. She has plenty of angles with her...thanks to my mom. Seven to be exact. :)
We are so blessed to have family and friends who love Jesus and know when two or three are gather together in prayer the Lord will bless and honor the request. Praise God!!!
I am hoping we can have pictures taken tomorrow to show. Science lesson! :) :)
Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts!!

Testing week...good or bad?
OK it has finally come...testing week. The girls feel good about what they know and have learned this year. Not stressing out!!...that is what we are trying to do.
Jessica has testing Mon.- Thurs. and Rebecca has testing Mon.-Tues.
Yesterday was a good day. They seemed pleased w/ what they accomplished.
And it was Jessica birthday. YIPPEE!! she turned 14yrs. old WOW!! Cannot believe she is 14.
I am thinking of not having them test next fall. Any thought out there?
We shall see. I know in High School it is different story, we need to for College. Rebecca may not test. I may give my own test..hehehe.
If you are reading this please pray for us. Thanks!

TANGERINES FOR SALE!!
Jessi, Jude, Jonah holding up signs..."sale-tangerines". Had a great time. Thanks guys! Here is Becca! Working hard at selling tangerines!
Yah! We have a buyer!! Some friends came by and helped w/ the selling- David and Jonathan!
Thanks guys!
Waiting was the hardest part...patience was one of many learning experiences that day. :)
We got smart and put up an umbrella. Whew! That feels better!
This was a home school project for the girls. Our neighbor/friends hand-picked them. WOW!
They picked about 400!! Or some thing like that. :)
The girls learned how to manage a business, make trans-actions, serve the public, make a product look good, sell a product, etc. I could go on and on. I highly suggest this to ALL HOME SCHOOL KIDS AND FAMILIES!!
What a great teaching tool for them! Jessica also typed a report and researched tangerines.
Amazing what we can learn just by selling tangerines. How simply.
Thanks to all you helped and bought tangerines!

month 8...2 more months!! WhoHoo
Well, here we go. We are on our 8th month of home schooling. Cannot believe it is almost summer time. I have loved the cool, crisp weather we've had. SO NICE!!
We had some struggles but have seen God do what He does...change hearts, feed souls, provide, show His mercy, renews us, and shows His grace. What a wonderful God we have!!
Mark will be making the transfer from trainee to plain old customer service rep. in April. Very exciting!!
Girls are getting ready for testing...yippee! Mom is not ready. :(
Becca has been through the ringer this month. Had some work done w/ her teeth. Poor baby! She will be done tomorrow..it is her last appointment.
Jessica found out from a regular check up that one of her tubes is still in her ear...yikes! So, we see an ear and nose doctor tomorrow.
Fun stuff! Two doctor visits in one day. Cannot complain though...know some people that see 5 doctors in one day! Now, that is way too many.
Has any one tried warm milk? It is the best! Try it! It helps me sleep.
OK I am tired. Getting girls ready for bed as I am typing. :) :) Not working out to well.
Good night. |

Fabulous, wonderful play!
Wow! Amazing! Wish I could have told everyone about the play but there would not have had enough seats. :) :) Our girls did a fabulous job! Everyone was so fantastic! Great actors, great singers, great dancers, great everything!
Wonderful job Summer, Cari, and all who helped with the production!
We had some family and friends there to watch and I have to say they loved it!
Jessica had a hard time w/ the fact she needed to laugh this evil laugh for her character and she did it!! Great job Jessi!
Rebecca was super!
Whew! Cannot believe it is now over! No more practices. Whew! The girls came home had something to eat and crashed into bed.
Good night!

Happy Spring
Well our youngest is now 12. Wow! Cannot believe we have a teenager and a tweenie. Time does fly by.
Our kids are in their first play tomorrow. "Suessical". They have done a great job w/ practicing. Please pray for a smooth night. Thanks!
Our seventh month was more productive. We learned lots. Writing prompts are the toughest to do. The girls are working better independently now. Rebecca and I will sit on the couch and read through our social studies books and just get lost in history. :) She enjoys that.
Jessica gets lost in her reading. She loves biographies. Anne Frank is a big hit and Albert Einstein...at the moment. :) What fabulous girls we have!!
We saw "Horton the elephant" today. What a funny movie and so cute.
OK I shall talk more later. Have a blessed Easter! |
