MaMa's Musings....

• Aug. 6, 2006 - about me....and my life

i am ky.   i am married to the same guy for almost 31 years.  I am a SAHM and dh is a nurse.  i have 4 biological kids in their 20's.  all have moved on except my 24 dev. delayed daughter.   she lives behind our house in her own little place.   I home schooled all of the kids at one time or another.  They also went to private school.   After the 4 bio-kids, we adopted one daughter, Kaersta.   She was 8 months old when we met her.  She was not expected to live.  She is now 14.  She has Cystic Fibrosis.  Her health is ok at this point.  She is a trial and a joy, just like any other 14 year old.  Next, we adopted our now 8 year old son.  We met him at one day old.  He is very bright and has SID.  He is getting better every day.   He is such a sweet heart.  I expect him to grow up and work in medicine or something near to it.  Next came our Bree.  Now we did not meet her until she was three years old.  She is legally blind, has microcephaly, most mute except for screams...add in autism.  It was a big step for us to adopt Bree.  But now she is ours.  HOnestly, some days i stop and cringe and say i have to live with this screaming for the rest of my life?  The next thing...dear Jesus says...some one has to do it!  Next came our Kareena.  She was born at 27 weeks gestation.   We met her in NICU and brought her home with us forever.  Despite all the abuse her mom did to her in her uterus, Kareena is quite bright.  Exceptionally bright.  She is a drama queen.  She loves to sing and dance and entertain.   She has gone through three kidney surgeries and many other kinds of hospital stays.  She is three and just now made it on to the growth charts.

In addition, i have six grand kids.  They the same ages as the three youngest children.  It is sooo awesome to have built in buddies at grandma's house.

I don't do much out side of the house activities.  For the most part, i am the one that stays home with Bree.  No one likes to have a kid around that screams at the oddest times and things.

I am home schooling Kaersta and NIc.  Kareena gets in on some of the stuff.  I send Bree to public school.  At this point, I don't see where I can be much of a help to her at home.

All of my grandkids are home schooled.  Although, dd#1 is thinking about putting her 7 year old in school.   I have to keep my mouth shut and let her do as she wills, because that is what she has always done.  Done what she wants to do.

That's it.

Hey i need some friends on my blogger list.

word of warning- i rarely spend time correcting punctuation errors and the like.  grammer and punc. are my albotros.
